Will Superman I-IV be available individually? Or will the only way to get the one(s) we want be by getting the 14 disc monster?

I have no idea. I would say Warner Brothers will do it like they did with the BATMAN ANTHOLOGY, but since it's going to be so many discs...it might only be available together. Doesn't bother me, I planned to get the collection anyway. I would assume they'll announce the release date for this as well as SUPERMAN RETURNS within the next month or so.

from what ive read, they will be available individually but the extended cut of Superman 2 will only be in the 14 disc monster set

Warner Bros. rule and they're doing it in basically every variation you could want:
- The Complete Superman 14 Disc Set
- Superman II - Two-disc Special Edition (which includes original & Donner cut)
- Superman & Superman II Special Edition Boxset (which includes Superman - Two-disc Special Edition containing original & extended cut)

How the hell are they getting 14 discs out of this? The Matrix box set had 10 discs - and that was streatching it. Even the Alien Quadrilogy had four movies and nines discs, and it was exhaustive. Not only that, but the 9th disc was pretty much useless as it repeated most of what had been said.
14?!?

I have no idea too.
14 discs for 4 films?
Yikes - that's like 3+ discs per movie - that's like LOTR EE size - and that was overkill.
I can't possiby imagine what they'll do with this.
I was thinking 8 discs would be fine, but okay.
Imagine what the MSRP is going to be

Superman Returns will be included in the set instead of Supergirl, so you don't need to worry about buying them separately. ;)

Since I was planning on getting all of the movies, this will make it easier on the ol' pocketbook.

Haha, I'm actually gonna have to sell all of my Superman DVDs. I'll probably only get about $2.00 for parts 2-4. ;) I wouldn't buy this thing, but damn...I just can't turn down the special features and the Donner Cut of Superman II!

I'm giving my Superman Collection (Silver boxed set) to fellow schmoe and Superman fan, jeo4.
I can't wait to see Donner's finished version of SUPERMAN II. That's worth the price alone. :D

I already have the first two movies on DVD and they're good enough for me right now. I didn't like III or IV so I don't want them anywhere NEAR my DVDs :D.

I brought up this issue 'cause I don't want Superman III and IV or Supergirl. I just want Superman I and II, that's it. Therefore I don't want to have to buy the monster set just so's I can have the SE's of I and II when I don't want anything else. Be that III or IV or Supergirl or Superboy, or Superfriends, or Superpup for that matter.

It's too bad that REALDVDARTIST will only be telling us about the release of Superman Returns and not the others as well. It'd be nice to know their release date as far in advance as possible from someone within the industry. That way we could count on the release date being 100% accurate and not just a rumor.

I'm not quite sure where they're getting 14 discs, but I do know that both Superman Returns and the recent Superman documentary "Look, Up in the Sky" will be included.

hmmm, well i'll wait an see how they release it all, but i only plan on owning superman returns and superman 1 and 2; 3 and 4 were just horrid i'm sure they'll handle it just like they did with the batman boxset

I'm still not sure until I see the specs. I hate the third and fourth. I could at least stand the third batman, and i wanted to see the honest documentary of the fourth, so the Batman anthology was well worth it, but I honestly don't care a bit about Supes 3,4 & Supergirl. Might just be doing the Donner films.
