Hey everybody,

I have to honestly say that after the complete butchering of the of "Resident Evil: Apocalype", I'm actually excited to see how "Resident Evil: Extinction" turns out due to it's awesome cast but also having one of my favourite directors, Russell Mulcahy. He is a great director and he's saying already that this will be the scariest and best of the three. With that in mind, here are the first two exlusive photos from "Resident Evil: Extinction".

Milla looks so hot as usual and Ali Larter looks very hot as well as Claire Redfield. Check them out!

What do you all think? Love those blades Milla is carrying. :D

Due to the director im looking forward to this, but i havent forgotten who the writer is.

....that being said, i have little doubt that this will probably be the best in the series.(..how could it NOT be?)

The first RE was fun cheese, but NO RE movie. Not by a long shot.

The second RE was so fucking aweful that i now love it. The endfight with Alice and Nemisis stands as a prime example of comedy. Super-bitches do not horror movies make.

Ill be entering the theatre looking for a cheap laugh or two. I may leave with more (or less) then that, but i think its safe to say iim keeping expectations low.

What is the last good movie Mulcahy directed? What makes you have faith that he can pull off a good RE movie? I don't think he is a good enough director to compensate for what is sure to be a weak script. I thought the first one was OK, but the second one is painfully awful. It would be hard to make a worse RE movie than that one.

Not for me. I didnt find one redeemable thing about RE2. If you're gonna make a campy cheesefest, then you have to let the audience in on it - and not play it serious

Im not giving Paul Anderson anymore of my money. Ill avoid like the plague no matter even if its a game i like, I just cant watch someone butcher anymore video game movies.

I thought the first Resident Evil wasn't very good but I'm one of the extremely few people who totally dug RE: Apocalypse. I enjoyed it as brainless action fare. And I loved the Jill character played Sienna Guillory. I thought Guillory was sexy and just a cool kickass action heroine. Infact I wish these movies revolved around her and not the just ok Milla Jovovich. As long as Guillory is back I'm so there for RE 3.

I say keep Jill and lose the super-bitch Alice.

RE2 would have wroked so much better WITHOUT a super powerd character to protect the good goys at all time.

SURIVIVAL HORROR doesnt work if the main character can beat the shit out of anything in the city, even Nemisis.

Same reason Aliens 4 sucked(well, one of the reasons..) Ripley was already a bad-ass, making her super powerd was beyond lame.

I'll be going in with the lowest of expectations.

Cept it worked better in Aliens 4.

The only way this series is ever going to work again is if Anderson finishes his shit and then a director like Aja comes on board and just gives us a balls the wall zombie film.

God, why does Anderson have to suck so much ass??? Just about anyone could have done a better job.

I don't think anyone ever answered my question, specifically those who expressed happiness that Mulcahy is directing. What is the last good movie he directed?

Well, RE was never really a quote unquote "zombie franchise", but I get what you mean. I couldn't agree more after seeing The Hills Have Eyes.

That movie kicked my ass. All the way down to Chinatown.

Let's not get into THAT again. :)

What it IS is a survival movie. Jesus Christ Superstar might as well be a character in THIS franchise, seeing as how it's completely ruined that aspect.

Well, it ISN'T, plain and simple, so where's the argument? :p

I completely agree. I'm not saying that the movie would win any awards, but it was entertaining (If only for the little lady shown above).

I seem to remember, after seeing the first one, telling everyone how terrible it was. I suppose that's just because I was expecting the game to be made into movie form...not a zombie movie...take away T-Virus and Umbrella and that's another bad zombie movie...only it's a zombie movie w/ Michelle Rodreiguez(sp) who makes me cringe...crazy alcholic...

I only found the second one better because the one good thing about the first one was when Milla cocks that shotgun at the end...it made me look foreward to a more video-game incorperated sequel...and honestly, viewing it as a crappy horror movie and not a piece of cinema...it would have been pretty good without as rediculous as a Nemesis and Sienna with the exact look of the game...

Paul W.S. can make a good movie w/ the right budget I still think -- but his writing is for shit...but they cleaned up the costumes so they're not colorful anymore...there's still gonna be zombies...and there was another cool ending, at least IMHO, at the end of the second one -- with a new director, what do they have to lose? As long as it doesn't have a campy, end of trilogy, Ewok celebration, I think I'll be happy...

I've always hated the resident evil movie series. I've been a huge fan of the game series since 96, when RE came out for the playstation, so i was super pissed when i found out they scrapped over half of the characters and instead of using any of the original monsters(minus zombies and zombie dogs, maybe crows too cant remember) they just used a licker from resident evil 2 but made it 3 times bigger. I wanted to see the Tyrant on screen, and Barry with his trusty magnum. the hunters, the giant plant, giant snake or monster shark would have all been acceptable also.
My expectations were too high for that movie, and i've moved on. I haven't seen RE2 i may have to watch that at work tomorow, though the general consent on it is worse than the first so...maybe if i cant find anything else to watch.
I'll decide if i'm going to this new resident evil movie once i hear more info on the characters/plot, but as of right now theres no hope.

Greeeat script review BTW. It's good to know scripts can have FOUR acts nowadays insteadof THREE. :)

A Beautiful Mind has about five, and it won an Oscar. The more the merrier, apparently :D

I could care less about a 3rd Resident Evil film. While the first is a decent zombie actioner, the 2nd is one of the most utterly ridiculous and incomprehensible movies that I've ever seen, and it has about a billion endings, filled with twist after twist after twist.

I like cheese , so these films are perfect for me , the only thing missing , as i've stated before , is the gore quotient . Mix the gore from Land of the Dead with the first two films and they would be perfect .

I think what people forget , is that the narrative in the games wasnt exactly shakespeare to begin with , it was inherently cheesy and silly , but that was one of it's charms . If anything PT Anderson gave the source material a more serious and " believable " tone , and Witt just went all out cheesy action , a mixture of the two would work well in part 3 .

I like how part one introduced the Umbrella corp and their various underhanded ways , and how part 2 expanded on that concept . And at least , at the minimum , RE 2 delivered the action goods , i can think of plenty of films that fail in that regard . It's pretty much all style and action , it's a great film that doesnt detract from the original ( i still get a little chill at Guillory's introduction and her subsequent dispatching of some zoms in the police station :) ) .

It's good it's getting a fresh director , some new blood , and who knows , if he does well , he may be back for a fourth , although i like the idea of Aja or even Neil Marshall directing the next one .

Hardly. It was the voice acting and dialogue that drenched the story in cheese, not the narrative. The premise was as awesome as you could get for a fear franchise - a bioweapon is unleashed on a small industrial mountain city. Middle America, a normal burg that could be Anywhere, U.S.A., that's half of what made RE's setup eerie in the first place.

When Anderson put his hands on it, he ruined that by setting it in a high--tech metropolis, may as well have renamed it Action City. And the stylized, cheesy action that you mentioned didn't help matters.

Making a super-powerd hero was Andersons worst mistake. Whatever tone he had TRIED to set with the first RE was utterly trashed in the 2nd due to this. They felt like Milla was made the star of the RE universe so Anderson could get laid. Thx buddy.

The movies already sucked, but Jill and the rest of the cast were far more compelling in Apocalypse then Alice because i felt like the zombies could actualy HURT them.

From the script review it sounds like a vast improvement over the both those mentioned movies, but im not going to get my hopes up. I did that already with RE1, AVP, and RE2. He needs to let someone else write and him direct. That he can do.

i will not apologize for loving Resident Evil - loved it so much that I even liked the second one because it was like getting a small (albeit not as good) fix of Alice and Umbrella Corp....

this is one of my favorites and I am looking forward to another fix.

yes please.
