WOW!

http://www.miamivice.com/

Go to videos and check out TV Spots #1 and #2

Probably the best promos I've seen yet.

"They lied."

"Violence is expensive."

and of course...

"THESE GUYS KILL EV'RYTHING!"

Anyone make out the song playing in spot #1?

Now that is how you advertise the movie. Definitely the best promos out there and it has restored my faith.

Does anyone know when this will come out in Spain because I'm leaving on monday and wont come back till mid august, and when I come back I have to leave on another vacation, so I wont be able to catch it in theaters... Unless someone knows when this hits theaters in Spain or knows a site where I can find out

P.S- The TV spots kick ass.

I believe the last thing I read about the running time said that Mann is trimming it little by little, and the most recent running time is around 130 minutes.

Having some streaming problems!!! Not happy at all!! Gonna keep trying though. Does this film keep getting cooler or is it just me?!?

I heard reports of the runtime being anywhere from just over 2 hours to 147 minutes.

bammy - right click on the file (or apple-click) and lower the setting -- I had to move mine from high to low for a really smooth file - and it didn't look any different for some reason.

Anyone else going to watch the special on NBC - should have lots of clips, plus the 1984 pilot.

I didn't think this deserved it's own thread, but I thought some people should know, as I love this news, but it's gonna tick some people off...

From ThePRP.com
Nonpoint have enlisted the services of director Darren Doane (Darkest Hour, Every Time I Die) to the helm the soon to be shot video for their cover of Phil Collins' "In The Air Tonight". Filming will take place in Miami, FL. As previously reported, the aforementioned track will serve as the first single from the upcoming movie remake of the 80's TV show, "Miami Vice".

I for one love the cover, but I know a lot of people dislike it... Sounds like I'm gonna be loving the soundtrack:D

Hell - I say we give it it's own thread. Everyday I see our Vice threads pushed down by multiple Transformers threads, and the sort - Not trying to hate, just trying to mention that the playing field is uneven.

Yeah - I'd heard the Nonpoint news last week and was meaning to mention it here.

Honestly, I like the mood and sound of the Nonpoint version, but it has one SERIOUS problem for me --- It repeats the seminal drumbreak over and over before each chorus. You know which part I'm talking about - the DOO-DOO---DOO-DOO-DO-DODODO.

That's like the climax of the Phil Collins version, and sets the song off into overdrive. I DETEST how Nonpoint does it over and over and over again.

That being said - songs are almost always edited for movies and I understand they are using the song for a 6 minute scene and the song is only like 4 minutes long - So obviously something is being revamped.

I also have to consider how it will play with dialogue and things going on.

All I know is that the drum break better set things off like it did back in '84....

....unless of course it makes no difference and the scene still kicks ass.

Yeah, the film version that I heard differs slightly from the original Nonpoint version. What I find is funny is that Nonpoint used to be a Universal records artist, and "Recoil" (the album that contains "In the Air Tonight") was their first album after being dropped from Universal. I would offer a comparison, but I'm way too tired...

I'm seriously pumped for this flick. It's going to be the best non fantasy/effects filled film of the summer, maybe of the year. Michael Mann is an absolute genius, and I love Colin and Foxx.

Thanks for the hint Bubba, heading over there as we speak!! Excuse my ignorance but i've never heard of Nonpoint on this side of the pond. Am gonna trust it's a decent cover since Mann is using it in the film. My judgement is well and truly reserved!
