To the Independence Day sequel? I remember reading about it years ago, like six months or so after the first one came out, and how the 2nd would feature the aliens coming back for some more action. I ask because it was on HBO earlier and got me thinking about it.

yeah... i remember that like when the movie first came out... cinescape magazine always talked about a future to be determined... unfortunately i guess will smith decided to do MIB2 instead

I've heard talk but it was always rumors. There was never any confirmation from Roland & Emmerich that ID4 would ever spawn any sequels. I don't think it was just Will Smith either - I'm sure he would've loved to do more of these, but the projets never panned out.

I did hear that R&E were planning a sequel (or sequels) to Stargate too, but again - nothing.
