I live in a town with only a Super Wal-Mart as its claim to fame. No other good stores in town. Luckily, they price match there if you bring the competitors ad. I made them pay today. Literally.

Thanks to special 4th of July sales, at both Circuit City and Best Buy, I got all of the following movies:

The Transporter (Special Delivery Edition)
The Transporter 2
X-Men
X-2: X-Men United
Dodgeball Unrated Edition
Napoleon Dynamite: Like, the best special edition ever!

Now, here is why these are deals. At Best Buy, Napoleon and Transporter 2 are on sale for only $6.99. Today only. At Wal-Mart, these movies are priced at $19.94 each. That is $12.95 in savings per DVD right there. They also have Dodgeball and Transporter 1 for $6.99. At Wal-Mart those 2 are priced at $13.72. That is $6.73 in savings per DVD for those. At Circuit City, they have X-Men 1 and 2 for only $4.99. At Wal-Mart, they are both $9.98. That is $4.99 in savings per DVD for those.

My total, after price matching, came to just $40. Had I paid full price, I would've paid over $90. That is over $50 in savings people. I saved more than I spent.

So, I urge you, head to Wal-Mart today. Best Buy and Circuit City both have shit loads of other DVD's (the ones I bought were the only ones that interested me that I didnt already own) marked down to $6.99 and $4.99 that Wal-Mart has priced from $9.98 and up. Save yourself a ton of money, and have a good Fourth!

Edit: also, it should be mentioned, that that Napoleon Dynamite DVD is the new special edition that came out the first week of June. And its already on sale, albeit one day only, for only $6.99. Deals like that dont come along very often. Just make sure you take whichever ad with you because otherwise you cant get them for that price.

Or, just go to Best Buy and Circuit City instead of Wal-Mart. If you have one in your town, unlike me.

I was happy yesterday when I got a new copy of Grandma's boy for $8.99 and King Kong for $8.99 new our local store had a small sale on and I got the big lebowski for free because it was buy 2 on a certain rack and get a free 3rd movie.

I think though it was because he over ordered several movies and being a small store he wasn't moving them so he had a small sale to clear some out lol I was so happy yesterday

Yeah, I wasn't happy when I saw Napoleon Dynamite was that cheap when I just got it a month ago for 16.99 or whatever. I hate when that happens.

The biggest deal I've ever gotton was for the Star Wars (Special Editions) box set released in '04. I droped in to my local Best Buy not too long ago and saw it on sale for $45.99 (Cdn.). When I got to the cash the database said it was regular price. The cashier asked me to show him where it said $45.99. I took him over and showed him the little card that said $45.99. We went back to the cash and he began to process the sale for what I thought was $45.99. He tells me the price plus tax and I was puzzled because it was lower than I expected. Then he explains to me that he's selling it to me for $35.99, that's why the lower price. Later that day I saw this exact same box set at HMV for $89.99! Talk about saving $$$!

Man, I used to RAPE half.com back in the day! I swear I must've bought well over 1,000 movies on that freakin' site. Haven't used the site in a long time though, don't know if it's still cool or not.

Thanks for tipping me off about the Best Buy sale, jackson...

I didn't find THAT much of interest (I was a couple days late), but I got Closer for 6 bucks and Mean Girls for 9 bucks.

Not bad, I do say...especially refreshing after spending 20 on the extras-less Match Point the day before.
