the dead one

Ok, I’ll cut right to it!
There are a handful of exceptional Indy horror films, which have flown below the radar of genre fans. I see this as a real tragedy, only because of the number of poorly made genre films that are produced by the big studios are just too predominating today. Plus the direct to video market is not much better, the big chains carry the most horrid pieces of shite that end up as ‘Sc-Fi Channel Originals’.
You could say that the days of seeing a film like the original ‘Evil Dead’ being produced are pretty much unheard. But, back in the early 90’s there was one young individual who decided to rise to the challenge and shoot his 1st low budget horror film. His name is Leif Jonker and the film was ‘Darkness’. Which has gone on to reach legendary cult status, but there are many out there who have not seen or heard of the film.
So here’s the lowdown, I have included a link to the thread of my review of the original cut of 'Darkness' posted back in 04 and my current review of the NEW release of the DVD ‘Darkness: The Vampire Version. Plus, the filmmaker himself Leif Jonker was kind enough to post on this very thread---cool shite for sure!
So, check it out and for those who have bought or seen ‘Darkness’ or the new edit of the film called The Vampire Version, lets talk it up here…:D
