I myself am still debating if I want to join. I would never be nasty to anyone on there, but political debates can become quite heated. I just don't know if I want to do that at JoBlo.com. Hmm. Maybe someday I will join. As for now, I will just observe.

I also debated for a while whether or not I wanted to join. I was afraid to join because I didn't trust myself enough to NOT lose my cool if I ever got offended in that forum (and I've certainly had my "moments" elsewhere occasionally). But then I figured "what the hell do I know about politics?" since I'm no expert by any means, and I probably wouldn't have much to contribute to those topics anyway, so it's not likely I'll ever get drawn into a long/heated debates. On the other hand, it's always nice to be able to post whenever I DO have something to add, so I asked to join anyway. If I get turned down, it's no biggie.
