Good Riddance :D
After seeing the documentary of ENRON: THE SMARTEST GUYS IN THE ROOM....
Lay is a skeezy idiot that points blame in the other direction ....
SEE NO EVIL, SPEAK NO EVIL, HEAR NO EVIL
Won't be missed and former employees of ENRON who got pretty much nothing when they found out they have no job when the firm collappsed right under them must be quietly rejoicing

It's really mature and cool to rejoice over the death of a person who's never harmed anyone.

And Ken Lay comes off as a guy who was unaware what was going on?
Lay had his blinders on and forgot to take them off....
He knew what was goin on and did not do anything about it...

More Kool Aid? I never said he was innocent.
I said he never hurt anyone and I mean it.
Oh cool, next time someone gets fired they should kill their boss, it's ok.

The sad thing is that I would not be surprised if he set up his death to go living off somewhere else.

That's an incredibly ridiculous comment. He was just snatching purses on a hugely macroscopic scale. Stealing from people harms them. And did you see Enron: The Smartest Guys in The Room? Several people died from not having available heat/air conditioning in their homes as a result of the phony energy crisis Enron concocted to make profits. White collar crime in the end harms more people than street level crime.
I'm not happy that he died, I'd much rather he be forced to rot in prison and serve his time (though unfortunately he'd be in a white collar resort prison rather than the pound-me-in-the-ass prison he deserves). And yeah, I could see this being fake. It's probably legitimate, but I wouldn't doubt he faked his death to make off with the cash.
Nice Simpsons referrence Bubba.

Losing your life savings through no fault of your own does hurt. . . . . especially if you get a hold of the guy responsible.
He got off too easy.

What he did to those people was wrong and he totally deserved a guilty sentence... but rejoicing over his death? Please... get your priorities straight people.

Yeah, we still have Jeff Skilling to laugh at.
Why should I give a shit if this asshole is dead? He did minimal suffering for the massive ripping off of many people he did and as Quentin mentioned, yes, people did die. Fuck Ken Lay and good riddance. He ruined the lives of thousands all for himself.

Retirement funds? 401k? Stocks & bonds?
Those aren't exactly things that concern children.

Brace yourselves. I'm about to ask one of the dumbest questions ever...
What's Haliburton?
I get the general gist of what it is, but I want to know for sure.

Damn it! I thought someone would EXPLAIN it to me themselves. I'm too lazy to read anything. :D
(Just kidding...I'll bookmark it and read it later. Thanks.)

Except the thousands of people whose money vanished. Unsurprisingly, this comment had already been made by others, and not addressed by my favorite debater ever, JohnTheHenchman.

I would've gone with "Happy Birthday" but yours is much more original.

Isn't it kind of sad that he died, thought? He got the easy way out. It would have been better if he would have served years in jail and THEN he would have died.

Nah, in that case it would be more enraging. Henchman is genuinely implying it's a tragedy that a man who stole billions and screwed MANY people out of the money that they needed (and indirectly killed some people as QUENTIN pointed out) and didn't even see a day prison.
I saw we grind em' up, mix his remains with toilet paper and give it away free to his victims.

Agreed - especially since it's easy for people to disappear. I'm extremely skeptical that this all happened as he awaited trial and before his assets were seized. People can go into witness protection at the drop of a hat, and Ken Lay dying before being punished for arguably the greatest white collar crimes of modern times is taken as fact.

He may have been a bad man, maybe even evil but I still find it very disturbing that people are actually cheering about his death.
I'll put it this way and compare him to a person who is even worse. The day Bin Laden dies, while it will be good that he will no longer be able to do anymore harm, there is absolutely NOTHING cheerful about it. His existance certainly isn't cheerful and neither is his death.
Did this guy get what he deserved? I guess that depends on who you ask. I'd much rather see people go to prison. But certainly I can understand the people he did harm to probably felt he deserved to die. But I don't think they would be cheering about it.
I hope this makes sense. I'm not really sure how else to describe it.
