Just watched the first Candyman and since Im too lazy to write a full review I figured I'd just post some shit here. What a great film. Talk about perfect casting. Tony Todd IS Candyman. I cant see anyone else playing the role to such perfection. And Virginia Madsen! She also rules this movie, and she's beautiful (just had to throw that in :) Philip Glass' score was great. Any other Candyman fans?

i own this movie. bought it years ago and fell asleep during it. granted, it was like 4 in the morning, but i don't remember the movie being anything special.
But I think I should give the movie another chance.
Oh, and yeah, Virginia Madsen is hot.

Possibly the most perfectly acted, visually appealing, sensual yet terrifying, intellectual horror movie with an excellent score, script and premise I've ever seen.
Darchangel's Rating: An Emphatic 10 of 10 Breasts!

It was a great movie. Sequels could have been better.

I thought it was good, and some scenes scared me. The first time I watched it I was in a former friend's room in total darkness, so that probably helped.

Candyman is a fantastic movie. It is my second favorite film written by Clive Barker(Lord of Illusions being my favorite). I really wish Barker would write more screenplays, that is where he excels most I think.
Candyman 8.5/10

I loved Candyman. Saw it at the cinema with a bunch of friends (one of the few times i've managed to assemble a sizeable group to go see a horror movie). But i've always been a little disappointed by the ending. The entire bonfire scene always felt a little bit underwhelming when stacked against all that came before. Still a fucking classic though and alongside Ivans xtc and the haunting Paperhouse it's Bernard Rose's best movie. 9 out of 10.

This is actually the only score by Phillip Glass that I can listen to without getting sea sick.
I like Candyman, I saw it when it first came out, and that was when horror movies were still on the good side, just before it started crossing the line into crap zone.
Tony Todd is very creepy and I hated that husband with a passion, fucking tool!

this is one of the few films that TRUELY scares me to this day. It's not a film that I like to watch multiple times a year. I get too scared.
Everything in this film is perfect.
Bernard Rose's Paperhouse is a beautiful and creepy film and needs a DVD release.

One of my favorite horror flicks. Tony Todd did such a great job that anytime I see him in anything all I can think of is "Candyman".

Great movie...I saw this when i was around seventeen and it blew my mind, Farewell to the Flesh is worthy sequel to a very original flick...
What happend to Tony Todd anyeway?
He used to play in decent horror/action flicks...but these days...
Zombie riot;Shadow or what ever that crap flick is called...I never screamed at the movie screen in my live, but when i saw that piece of shit on the NIGHT OF TERROR, my sociopathic brain just.....snapped...
I love Tony as a character actor, but he needs to get some projects that flex his acting skills more...I mean Minotaur....I feel...hate ...rising....RHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
