Over at AICN, someone wrote in saying that non other than Jean Claude Van Damme will be playing the villian in the next Rush Hour. I hate the first two, but I'm there if this means the big screen return of JC.

Nope, he just wanted more money, as is always the case...

Tony Jaa should be the next Rush Hour villain

hahah... you make it seem like a bad thing. i mean, if i was offered to do another rush hour movie, i'd want more money! i mean... to star in another shitty movie with another has-been actor... it'd better be worth something! i mean, all chris tucker has is rush hour, the same as wesley snipes and blade.

The first two in the series were good, or decent, fun - Chris Tucker may not be doing much . . . or anything for that matter . . . but his 'Carter' character is funny, in my opinion.
And I think that Jean Claude Van Damme as a villain would continue that fun in the third one.

Well, Chris Tucker might only have Rush Hour, but I'd say Wesley Snipes doesn't have Blade anymore. Watch the Spike Channel lately?
And I'm just stating that Jackie Chan's come a long way from his "doing movies for fun" mentality. Plus, wasn't he just going to make Hong Kong movies for awhile? The last one he did (New Police Story) was pretty damn entertaining and I'd love to see more of it instead of his rubbish Hollywood movies...

Actually Tucker has more movies than Rush Hour (Friday,Jackie Brown, Money Talks) but you're probably just thinking that b/c he's only been in 2 movies in the past 8 years (Rush Hour 1 and 2) As for Snipes, he's been in a lot more movies than just Blade but mostly he has switched to making direct to dvd movies. I think Rush Hour 3 has potential to be a good movie but only time will tell. I really don't know how much different it could be though. But I will see it b/c I hear that Roselyn Sanchez is back and I think she's yummy! :D

yeah.. the guy from old school hip hop group Onyx plays Blade now and the show looks really cheezy, like that other show they tried to release that also came from a comic book, Witchblade. that reminds me, whatever happened to that? oh yeah, when she took armor form it TOTALLY did not look like how it was in the comcis. it wasn't sexy or whatever, it was bulky and soo Bill & Ted. i know they were trying to play off of the deeper storyline the comic had to offer, but realistically, what sold was her metallic costume like thingy. hey, sex sells. okay okay.. off tangeant. what i'm trying to say is... well, i kinda forgot. since you quoted my entire post, was your reply directly focusing on jackie chan asking for more money, or the whole blade thing? anywho... i think they're all washed up! ooh, that leads to an important question, whatever happened to all these martial art action stars?

Well, as I was saying, in his last H.K. movie, Chan seems far from washed up, and that's where he needs to stay for awhile.
And the Blade TV show is pretty crappy. Especially since Sticky Fingaz voice is like 50 decibels below Snipes and he speaks in unintelligable mumbles ALL the fuckin' time.

What a dumb comment.....er..I mean, misinformed comment. Guess I'm ignoring your user-name huh? *wink*
Ok, let's clarify--
Chris Tucker WALKED away from his original trilogy which was FRIDAY. For various reasons, He wouldn't do the 2nd & 3rd movies, Thus Mike Epps was discovered(for better or worse). Chris has turned down a half dozen movies since Rush Hour 1st started. I mean he's a young man with 50 million dollars and enjoying life, what can you say. In '07 he has Gangsta M.D as well as Rush Hour3 coming out.
As for Wesley, he was in Wildcat's and Major League in the 80's for Chrissakes, and has only done what, 40 or so movies since then. Including New Jack City, Jungle Fever, White Men Can't Jump, US Marshalls etc etc. Currently, he has Chasing the Dragon('06), and Toussaint(07) coming out. Not to mention his Amen-Ra production company.

Let's not forget Passenger 57 - a classic in every sense of the word :D. (Nevertheless, a guilty pleasure for me :))

wow don't cry about it. so what if they're washed out. and when the hell did chris tucker get 50 million dollars? what you talkin 'bout willis? hahah... snipes was popular in the 80's and somewhere in the mid and late 90's. so what?! if you're going to name all his movies, don't forget To Wong Fu.
don't take it so personally, if you want to relive the 90's, go watch vh1. OR... buy snipe's made for TV movies such as that futuristic football game where he's pimping the dreadlocks. i don't know what the hell it's called and i can care less. i have a feeling you know, and perhaps own two copies, one on vhs and the other... lol... collector's dvd! *jump kicks air!*

His salary for the three Rush Hour movies and Money Talks. Who knows how much he got for Friday, The Fifth Element and Jackie Brown.

I don't know if he's worth that much, but that's what they're paying him. I'm thinking the producers (or whoever's writing the checks for these guys) are thinking ahead to the DVD release. They now have a trilogy and can have a DVD box set with a bunch of goodies and what not.

I really hope this is true as then it would mean that I'll finally be seeing Van Damme back on the big screen instead of these straight to dvd flicks that he's been doing for since I can even remember.

wow, that makes sense. but hey, that's a really long gap from the sequel compared to memorable movies like Alien3 to Alien Ressurection, or even the Terminator trilogy. so who's going to replace jackie? that onk bak guy? ...that'd be cool, but i can't picture it a comedy. well... i can find it being funny, but more in a dark sadistic kind of way. hmmm... maybe they can save even more money and replace chris tucker with american idol winner, fantasia barrino. they can even kill another bird with the same stone and have her do the soundtrack. they can even call it Rush Hour 3: Angel of Vengence!!! pretty sweet eh? *high five!*
