The Sixth Sense is the most entertaining. "Stuttering Stanley!" 8/10

Unbreakable is the smartest. 9/10

Signs is the most Hitchcockian/Twilight Zonesque. 6/10

You really can't compare the three because each of them are different.

The Sixth Sense was more of a discovery film.
Unbreakable was more of a "I need to cope with and have an understanding of who i am" film.
and Signs is honestly like unbreakable but more mainstream. More entertaining.

So in order of which i like them:

1) The Sixth Sense & Unbreakable
2) Signs

Unbreakable (9/10) The most suspensful, and smartest of the three.
Signs (8/10) The scariest, funniest, and saddest of the three.
The Sixth Sense (8/10) The most mysterious, and thought provoking of the three, with the best ending.

I find all three of these film to be extremely deep and so much more than what is there on the surface, which is why I love his work. Alfred Hitchcock's replacement is here.

would someone please tell me what "wide awake" is about. i was told by my "know-it-all" video renter-buddy that there were no prints of it on the market...

Just got back from Signs and I was very impressed. Here are my ratings for all 3 Shymalan films:

1. The Sixth Sense- 9/10 (formerly 10/10)
2. Signs- 8/10
3. Unbreakable- 8/10

1. Sixth Sense 9/10--the best acting, excellent plot, and the best ending.

2. Unbreakable, 7.5/10--a little uneven, but an original slant on superheroes and still emotionally powerful.

3. Signs, 5/10--not bad, with some good scenes, but a dissatisfying ending that really just dissipates out.

Never seen it, however it stars Rosie O'Donnell as a nun. It's about a 10 year old kid that goes on a search for God after his grandpa die. There is a big controversy around it between Miramax head Harvey Weinstein and M. Night because Harvey forced him to edit the film, and thus Nigh made a product that he wasn't proud of. Apparently, in its original form, it was quite good.
