There's some talk going around about the track listing for the Miami Vice soundtrack. Here is what's being reported, but I haven't seen anything official yet -

1. "In The Air Tonight" Nonpoint
2. "One Of These Mornings" Moby feat. Patti LaBelle
3. "We're No Here" Mogwai
4. "Sinnerman (Felix Da Housecat's Heavenly Remix)" Nina Simone
5. "Auto Rock" Mogwai
6. "Arranca" Manzanita
7. "Ready For Love" India.Arie
8. "Strict Machine" Goldfrapp
9. "Pennies In My Pocket" Emilio Estefan
10. "New World In My View" King Britt
11. "Sweep" Blue Foundation
12. "Anthem" Moby
13. "Blacklight Fantasy" Freaky Chakra
14. "Mercado Nuevo" John Murphy
15. "Who Are You" John Murphy
16. "Ramblas" King Britt
17. "A-500" Klaus Badelt & Mark Batson

Moby is definitely confirmed, and Nonpoint seems fact, as reported in another thread.

From VH1.com - http://www.vh1.com/artists/news/1528891/04182006/moby.jhtml

Moby's collaborated with "Miami Vice" director Michael Mann before, contributing music to the soundtracks of "Heat" and "Ali," so it wasn't too difficult to figure out which tack to take with "Vice," which stars Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx.

"It's very dark and it's got a lot of pathos to it," Moby said of the movie, "so the music is dark and laden with pathos."

Sounds good. I'm blown away if "Auto Rock" from Mogwai actually is in the cut. I've always sworn by this track sounding like it was straight from Vice. It looks good, and I hope this is true. If not, I hope its as good or better.

Mogwai's management have confirmed both songs are in the movie!

If anyone hasn't heard "Auto Rock", let me know and I'll try to get it hosted. I can't believe how classic Vice it sounds --- Blows me away that they are using it in the movie. This is a good sign.

Auto Rock sounds classic Vice? Really? I don't hear it myself, but you are the MV expert of the board. Some good choices there, surprised at the Mogwai stuff of course. It's a good album and the climax on Auto Rock should work really well in the movie.

Bubba I didn't know you were a fan of Mogwai, or is it just Mr. Beast you like?

Well, not "classic" in a dated sense, but just that it fits the intensity - like how PIL's "Order of Death" was used. I was actually watching a lot of Vice when I first heard Auto Rock, and anticipating the movie, so I was probably in the mind-frame already - even watching HEAT again, and that Moby tune in the last scene.

I still drive around watching lights reflect off the hood of my car, just to give you an idea of how distracted I am with this movie - though it's not as cool looking on a Corolla as it would be on a Ferrari, but my imagination doesn't have to know that. :D

Mr. Beast is the only one I own, but I have a couple friends VERY into them, and have always enjoyed their past albums while hanging out. I really like ambient-type music, and Mogwai is a good blend of that with more beat-oriented and lyrical stuff. I'd probably have been more into them if not for this couple making up for what I was lacking - it was like the soundtrack to their house.

The official Miami Vice website has been updated, and there's a clip up featuring "We're No Here". It's in the scene under "line" on the age restricted part where Tubbs is talking to Crockett about being in too deep.

Damn, man - looking good!

WHAT? No covers of "HEARTBEAT?!?" :D

I am wee picky on covers and this group doin Phil Collins. Is it gonna be a good one or shitty one? And Moby & Patti? Strange Pairing Here.... I like Ms. Labelle but I hate to see her belt out a moment that lasts 10 minutes. She is notorious for stretching out a chorus. And "Sinnerman"! Yay! One of my Favorite Nina SImone songs! I assume its gonna be similar to the one that was in the ending credits in "Cellular" ? I am so lovin "Goldfrapp" so I am eager to hear what that one sounds like. And lastly, where's Gloria?

You guys are gonna have to help me out a little here, cuz i aint heard of most of these artists. That being said, i have several Mann soundtracks in my collection, all of which are fantastic. Like you said Bubba, that Moby track at the end of Heat gets me every time.

Mann is great at matching the mood with the music so i'm putting my faith in his selection......including Nonpoint (i hate people that cover my favourite 80's classics normally).

I have heard of Mogwai, but never actually listened to any of their stuff to be honest, so if you could get that 'Auto Rock' hosted, that would be great. Not that i need anything else to get me in the mood for this film......but it just keeps on coming!!

By the way, I bought that Mann book you told us about....and it still hasn't arrived. Something about supplier problems. Not a happy camper i must say. Supplier problems....how ironic.:D

Cheers Border. I've heard some Nina Simone so I'm quite curious as to how she sounds in the movie. As for Goldfrapp, they're pretty big over here at the moment....and i'm not a huge fan i must say, and i like electronic music. As for Emilio, i don't suppose you could go through Miami without hearing either him or his significantly better half could you!?!

Yeah, it's not out until fall unfortunately - but hopefully it will have more Vice content as a result.
