Check it out - lots of new stills, tons of clips, soundbytes, screensavers, etc. etc.

There is an entire age restricted are that's profanity laced.

It's really easy to navigate. The features section is amazing - goes into a lot of detail about a lot of stuff concerning the global underground, vice cops, and other madness.

I'm genuinely happy with how good the clips look. The one clip "One bleep, one plane" is so cool, just because you know it's all about getting merch in undetected - and how they get away with it -- major cool.

Plus you get to hear a lot of the music used in the movie under the clips.

Damn man, I'm getting more excited than ever. This shit is actually looking as good as I was hoping it would. Mann, this looks like the movie I've wanted and more.

WTF, it says it's unable to identify me as being over 18. How stupid is that shit. What system are they basing their information off of?

I've heard some complaints from other users. Try clearing all of your cookies, and doing it again. Don't give up. It's worth it!!

Type in some generic zip code, like 10004. It took me a couple of tries, but I put in 10003 as my zip code, and I love in Toronto. And once you're in, you're in - no need to re-enter it. It'll take you a couple of hours to get through all the Vice goodness on the site.

There are also some international sites, that might help out -

Subotai - What did you think of the clips?

I liked what I saw, especially the scene where they meet Jose Yero. I was never sold on Tom Cruise as an action hero before Collateral; that was the only film where he has had any cred in that sort of role. From what I saw, this will do the same for Colin Farrell.

I also liked the clip where they make a trade - Tom Towles, who played a bad-ass Aryan gang leader on RHD, looks like he plays much the same here.

And Gong Li looks good.

How about you?

I'm no Gong Li, but I look okay I guess. :D Sorry..

Yeah, I'm surprised that they are living up to my expectations. The scene with the two planes is just amazingly cool - the whole idea of how they would smuggle things in via plane, with the DEA relaying on radar tracking systems -- Well, now we know how it's done. I have a feeling this is going to be the most realistic cop movie ever and might be teaching a lot of people a lot of things about stuff they never thought about. I think this movie will do for action-dramas what Traffic did for political-dramas. It'll bring it from the streets onto our screens.

Not to derail the thread, or start an argument here, but I thought Traffic, while good, was overrated and not a really realistic depiction of the drug wars. It was nicely shot, but way overloaded with celeb cameos (always a Soderbergh shortcoming) and didn't focus on the true costs or complexity of the drug wars - which the TV show did, and which I hope Vice the feature film will.

One of the more underrated projects Mann has been involved in is 'Drug Wars: The Kiki Camarena Story' which, for all its TV-movie production values, did a pretty damn good job of examining the costs of the drug wars, the dangers to agents, and how drugs are brought into the country. And in Collateral, Heat, and RHD Mann showed how law enforcement uses overwhelming power - SWAT teams, top-flight technology, etc. - to battle these criminals, as opposed to the team of Cheadle and Guzman.

One thing you mention is the music on the website - it sounds damn good, and I get a 'Vice' vibe from those scores.

I agree, this will be one of the most realistic cop films ever, and I can understand Farrell's reservations with the 'Miami Vice' title - some people associate it (incorrectly, in my mind) with shlock and MTV. If it was titled 'Takedown' or something generic, it might have a better shot. But I think it's kind of ballsy for Mann to use these characters.

Well said. While I did like Traffic more than you did (still haven't seen the mini) - don't get me wrong, it did have flaws. As far as Hollywood goes, though, the movie was pretty damned realistic - I guess I should have stated the standard I was putting it on. I think my favorite film about going undercover so far has been RUSH with Jason Patrick, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Greg Allman.

Traffic is a good film - I guess I hold a grudge since it got so many props as a crime flick which Mann had been denied for years.

Rush is an excellent, gritty, underrated film. Another underrated film about undercover work is Deep Cover with Fishburne and Goldblum. My favourite film on the topic thus far is Donnie Brasco, but hopefully Vice will top that.

Infernal Affairs, while decidedly romantic, is also terrific and it should be interesting what Scorsese does with The Departed.

I need to go back and watch Brasco again - I was a bit distracted the first time seeing it, though the "shoe" scene sticks in my memory as an amazing scene.

Have never seen Deep Cover - I like the two leads though. This one slipped under my radar. I'm adding to Netflix after I type.

Haha. Netflix doesn't think I will be --- The movie was actually on my recommendations list.

I figured out that it won't take my name because I move for the military, so I have no 'home location'
So I tried my dad's name and it worked fine.

I must say, the website is phenomenal. great information. Neat misc. stuff with interesting facts. The background music is so tranquel. The clips are awesome, and really gets me excited again for the movie. Few more weeks left!
