I understand the entire German loophole tax thing -- but what kind of paycheck is Uwe Boll giving to 4 or 5 relatively accomplished actors for them to lower their dignity so much?

Alone in the Dark had Tara Reid in it, but outside of that Boll's movies are generally filled with nobodies who will remain nobodies -- has Ray Liotta's, Burt Reynold's, and Jason Stratham's careers gone that far into the shitter that they need this paycheck?

Or, forgive me ahead of time for this, is Boll getting one last chance to prove more than humorously, rediculous terrible cinema...

After watching the trailer, I can tell the biggest difference right away about this Boll Masterpiece -- a setting, a score, trained swordplay, a budget -- it still looks really bad, but where did he get this movie?

...or is this the coming of a new, better Boll with much less monster costumes?

I recall that this cost around 60 million. That's a lot of money. You could do in fact a pretty fucking great looking movie with that money. It looks like a 6 million movie.

I think you guys expect it to suck. I mean, it will probably suck and all, but i can't tell that from the teaser. It doesn't look like an amateur 6 million movie to me. I was expecting the worse (never watched any boll movie, just heard all the bad word of mouth) but i thought the trailer look at least generic, not bad.

I'm just curious what people would say about it if they didnt know it was directed by boll before seeing it....

So... Christian Slater is a nobody?

And that Ben Kingsly - what a hack.

Ya know I was thinking about that, and then it hit me -- what has Christian Slater done?

And I guess I don't even know what Ben Kingsly was in, or what role he played...

You're not Uwe Boll are you?

I've seen movies that had much less of a budget than 6 million that looks better than this movie.

Other than the acting, and horrible dialogue...I don't really see anything HORRIBLE about the direction.
...
But...eh.

This is my last post of the night, going to sleep...Why am I posting that?

Ben Kingsly was in that classic of classics, Bloodrayne.

Christian Slater may not be a superstar now (I think the last hit movie he starred in was 1996's Broken Arrow), but in the early 90s he was supposed to be the next big thing (or one of them), and starred in about 5000 movies.

Is it bad if I want to see this?

Sorry... just the truth.

Honestly, I thought House of the Dead and Alone in the Dark sucked balls. Haven't had the pleasure of watching Bloodrayne yet. But...based on the fact that his 2 earlier films sucked ass, I have to see this just to find out how bad it is.

Oh, I learned my lesson...

But... I just can't get over the "train wreck" factor... I almost want to see just how bad a movie can get.

And the cast really intrigues/perplexes me.

This movie is drawing me towards it like a moth to the flash of an atomic bomb. I don't know if I can resist.

so, i'll start off by saying that i have yet to see said trailer....but then again, why should i? hasn't boll ruined mine and everyone else's minds enough? plus, honestly, i don't wanna see jason statham being a pansy. most people don't like him, and everyone is entitled to their own opinions...but he is a badass...
why hasn't anyone assassinated uwe boll yet? seriously?

"he did resident evil...which rocked!"

those kinds of people should be thrown naked with cuts all over their bodies into raw sewage. why are studios constantly giving this fucker any sort of budget to work with?
"well, he sells the movie...people will wanna see it" don't...just don't.....

like someone said before (sorry for not giving credit), this man takes nobodys and keeps 'em that way, except MAYBE a COUPLE of reputable actors. why hasn't someone just slapped the top of uwe's hands when he reaches for a script and said "NO!"? almost every movie he's made, i've loved the game it's based on....after seeing his movies, i almost feel like i hate the games all of a sudden. i have a solution though.....

i say we spread the word to a uwe boll strike or something...no one see this assholes movies!!!

Please - If any of you are drawn to this movie cause of the trainwreck factor - please don't see it in theatres. At least wait and watch it on DVD so you're not making Uwe Boll hits. The worst thing would be for these films to turn a massive profit because of a morbid curiosity lol...and hey, this is the first time that an Uwe Boll movie actually costs a chunk...if anyone wants to take Boll down, this is the project to do it - by NOT seeing it in theatres. Or better yet - go and see something you want to see - like A Scanner Darkly or whatever and then sneak in to see this after. :)

That trailer was horrible. And the movie doesn't look inept in an "oh my god it's that bad" kind of way (ala house of the dead) where you can survive the experience because you are in too much shock at how bad it is - no, this looks like one of those movies that's gonna be absolutely horrible - but will probably be boring at the same time. At least, that's my impression from the trailer. I like to give most movies he benefit of the doubt before seeing them but considering his filmography and his continued proclamations of his own inept films as masterpieces (or comparing them to masterpieces)...yeah I don't harbor much hope for this movie at all. Besides, it's baesd on fucking Dungeon Siege.

I stumbled across a seemingly fan-made trailer on You-Tube that I'll link to here . . . . . . . can anyone tell me where the music in the trailer is from? I know it's a rather famous score, but I can't for the life of me think of the film it was originally from.

Trailer here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EKs4YQGcduo&search=dungeon%20siege

And yes, I'm going to see this in theaters. Uwe Boll is a genius. Seriously.

i never fully played the dungeon seige games, but wasn't the main character a red-headed chick? not a shaven-headed dude?

Please. Like this thing, or anything else he touches will make more than $5 million.

Actually, the best thing that could happen would be for this movie to break dead even - that way they couldn't take advantage of the tax loophole and make a profit (however that works).

By the way, in case the above poster wasn't being sarcastic, Boll did NOT do Resident Evil. That was evryone's other favorite whipping boy Paul WS Anderson.

That loophole still doesn't make any sense in my mind...seriously, it's just fucked up...and I thought they closed it up or something recently?

And never say never - I've seen stranger things happen :p
