Good flick to watch on Halloween night at about 12:00, who else here agrees? Shame it got such a shitty sequel, but this one has creepy music, scary scenes, and reasonably good acting(Some performances were a tad stiff I admit)
What are others thoughts on this movie?

I love this movie, but havent seen it for awhile...
I forget who's sick sister the movie keeps flashing back to, but I believe her name was Zelda and those scenes used to scare the shit out of me.
The achilles tendon....thats all i can say
haha a thread should be started on best achilles slice in a movie.

Great film. Fred Gywen was really inspired casting (RIP). I remember all the nightmares Zelda used give me as a kid...

Sweet! Thanks for the heads-up, Cronos. September is looking to be one busy month DVD-wise, what with seasons of Lost, Grey's Anatomy, My Name is Earl, The Office, Oz, and Smallville as well as Lucky Number Slevin, United 93 *and* Special Editions of A Nightmare on Elm Street and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre to look forward to, my wallet's gonna be taking one heavy hit.
I loved Pet Sematary as a kid, and it holds a special place in my heart since it was one of the first horror films I ever saw, along with Halloween 4, at my older sister's birthday party when I was 7. The scenes with Zelda and Gage being hit haunted me for months. Also, Elliot Goldenthal's wonderful score still sends chills down my spine. Shame it's not as well-known as it rightfully should be. Also love the songs by the Ramones, especially "Pet Sematary."

Pet Sematary was the first Stephen King novel I read, and got me hooked. The movie was also great.
Eerily, I saw on the news the other day that a toddler ran into a road and got run over by a truck, and the driver kept going. Apparently the road was known for it's dangerous fast moving trucks and they cut to an old man saying "I told my wife it was an accident waiting to happen."
I just thought "Holy crap! That's Jud ... and Gage ... it's all happening for real!"

Pet Semetery is a great movie that I really never get tired of watching. It's actually pretty creepy.

I'm a huge Stephen King fan so this movie was great to me because he wrote the screenplay. That makes Pet Semetary the most accurate movie of his in relationship to the novel. My favorite scene is when Luis tells the cat Church at the end: "Lie down, play dead...BE DEAD!!

I love this movie too. Saw the 5.50 DVD at Wal-Mart and been meaning to pick it up but if a SE is coming out I may wait.
The part that always gave me the creeps was Gage on the phone.
"First I played with Jud and then mommy came and I played with mommy. We had an awful good time. Now I want to play with you."

I like it, it's one of the best King adaptions around!
I just wished they had added the Wendigo in the movie...that part in the book where Dr.Creed meets the giant Wendigo when he carries his son to the pet cemetery is pricless...!
I heard their planning a remake with George Cloony....!

I really did love his acting in this (RIP), but did you see when South Park parodied his character? They got it right on the nail.
