Imagine a story loosely based on the Death of Jean DeWolf story.
The story begins with a kidnapping. Peter Parker is told to take some pictures for the story and he stumbles onto a clue as to where the kid is. He goes in as Spiderman and finds Daredevil already at the scene fighting the kidnappers. He helps rescue the child.
Later, as Peter Parker, he appears in court to testify against the kidnappers. Matt Murdock passes Peter Parker in the courthouse and hears his heartbeat. Matt puts two and two together and knows that Peter Parker is Spiderman.
The Kingpin gets out of jail. He knows that nobody is going to believe that Matt Murdock, a blind man, is Daredevil and, besides, he doesn't want people to know he was beaten by a blind man. He decides to hire somebody to kill Foggy Nelson. Somehow, Gwen Stacy gets killed instead.
Now when Foggy tells Matt what happened and Matt finds out that Gwen Stacy was the girlfriend of Peter Parker, Matt becomes Daredevil and hunts down both the killer and Spiderman: part of him thinks Spiderman can lead him to the killer, that maybe Spiderman knows something, and part of him is worried that Spiderman might be willing to kill the man out of revenge and Matt wants to warn the younger Peter that this isn't the way to go. Anyway, Daredevil finds Spiderman and the killer and the two of them battle the killer together. Of course, then, the killer needs to be a supervillain in order for the climax to work.
In the end, Foggy Nelson is sent into witness protection. Foggy doesn't know why the Kingpin wanted him dead and Matt doesn't tell him. Matt, feeling alone in the world, goes to see Peter Parker (who's just been to the funeral of Gwen Stacy), tells him that he's Daredevil, that he knows he's Spiderman and warns him that he should be careful because if somebody like the Kingpin ever learned his secret then his friends wouldn't be safe either. The movie ends with them shaking hands. Anything more than that would seem homoerotic. :)
