Look, I realize that some compromises have to be made for Joblo.com to be profitable, but is there any way to make it so that there aren't TWO embedded flash ads with shitty music and sound playing?

Every time I open JoBlo.com I feel like I'm in the movie Holloween!

I forgot I even had my speakers on, and they were on low, and as I was surfing the site, I was watching TV. Suddenly, I hear the faint sound of the Halloween theme and say to myself "where the hell is that coming from? who is watching Halloween, I'm home alone!".

Then I scroll up and see the banner ad. Dammit. Freaking me out for no reason.

I love when the Halloween Ad Comes on! :D

Now if you are ALONE and too involved on reading/posting something and when someone comes up behind you and touches your shoulder and........

You get the idea ;)

This forum is for such complaints/suggestions, but you have to realize that with ALL ads, there is always going to be some sort of "annoyance" factor that goes with it, and most of the time, the ads last about 2-3 weeks and then disappear, so just try to work around it, so that our site can keep chugging along for FREE for everyone.

I honestly don't have HALF the problems that some of you seem to have on the site though, as I have a pop-up blocker installed (natch) and generally just keep my speakers OFF.

It's also to note that I personally have NOTHING to do with the ads, as our ad brokers handle all that shit. I just control the CONTENT on the site, but obviously CAN complain to them about it, if shit gets out of hand.

That said, if something is REALLY out of line, then sure, keep complaining about, as it does make a difference if enough people bring it up. A perfect example of this is the TRAILERS that used to be embedded in ads about a year or so ago. So many people complained about them that the studios decided to either NOT include them in their ads anymore, or have them there, but on MUTE (you would have to turn the sound ON, if you wanted to hear it).
