Thsi si a forum to cover box office predictions for all the weekends in April. There will surely be many hits and many bombs in this exciting spring month.

April 5th-

BIG TROUBLE- This movie is going to be a big hit. It is based on a great novel. The trailers are funny and it boasts an all-star cast. It will open with about 15 million and finish with a superb 75 million.

NATIONAL LAMPOON'S VAN WILDER- This is going to be a hit also. It has been getting a lot of television marketing and the trailer plays great to teens and young adults. This movie is going to be the thing to see for young people. It will open with 20 million and finish with almost 100 million. This amy sound like a lot but if teens get behind something it'll be big.

HIGH CRIMES- This will do similar buisness to previous Freeman offerings. it should well with 11 million or so and end up with a nice 67 million.

April 12th-

FRAILTY- This is going to bomb although I am excited for it. I just don't see this film bringing in sell out audiences. It is going to be obscure. I would predict a 3 million opening and a finish with 8 million. Although it'll get abiiger audience on DVD.

THE SWEETEST THING- This movie will make a lot of money. It will connect with females and young men. I predict a 16 million opening and finish with about 74 million.

CHANGING LANES- This is going to be a moderate hit. It will atteact older men and fans of the stars. it should open with 11 million and finish with 70 million.

April 19th-

THE SCORPION KING- This will be a huge hit. It will attract a large audience of teens who want action and could not get into COLLATERAL DAMAGE. Plus MUMMY fans will love it. And many will see it for The Rock who they love from the WWF. I see a 30 million opening and a 125 million finish.

MURDER BY NUMBERS- This is going to be a pretty big hit. I think it will make about 13 million opening weekend and finish with about 68 million final.

April 26th-

LIFE OR SOMETHING LIKE IT- I smell a big bomb here. Jolie is not well liked and Burns is not mainstream. The trailers look odd and does not play well to audiences. I predict a 5 million opening and 14 million finish.

FRANK MCKLUSKY C.I.- This movie will not do well. I have not seen a single trailer and of the few photos I have seen it lokks dumb. I would be suprised if this saw the top ten. I predict a 500,000 opening and a 1.2 million final.

JASON X- This is the weeks big hit. I think teens and older fans will flock like chickens to see this film. The trailer gets an amazing reaction of laughs and screams. I see a 23 million opening and a finish of a not so great 45 million because it will probably drop like 55% after a stellar opening.

Well what do you guys think?

April 5th -

BIG TROUBLE // This will probably make a decent amount of money, by finishing in the top spot with about 20 million and closing with around 65 million, mainly because of the all-star cast.

NATIONAL LAMPOON'S VAN WILDER // I'll be suprised if this even hits $30 million. The advertisements weren't exactly great, and it looks like another teen sex comedy, which besides the American Pie franchise, usually don't make a lot of money. I predict a $9 million opening and a $29 million finish.

HIGH CRIMES // I see this performing a lot like last year's Along Came A Spider. It looks to make about $15 million in its opening weekend, and finish with $50+ million.

April 12th -

CHANGING LANES // Ben Affleck and Samuel L. Jackson are pretty big stars, and look to carry this movie to a decent opening and closing. Look for a $19 million opening and a $75 million finish.

FRAILTY // This will be a major bomb. Matthew McConoughey and Bill Paxton are not big enough to carry this movie on their starpower, and advertising has been limited. Look for a $5 million opening and a closing of less than $14 million.

THE SWEETEST THING // I see this performing like last year's Bridget Jones's Diary. It features a big name in a likable role in a romantic comedy. Expect a $20 million opening and an $80 million finish.

April 19th -

MURDER BY NUMBERS // Sandra's lat flick was a $100m blockbuster, but this doesn't look to follow the same route. With a darker plot and an R rating that keeps away her primary fan base, look for a $10 million opening and a $30 million finish.

THE SCORPION KING // The Mummy franchise was a big hit, and while this won't make as much as the first two, it will make a huge amount. Look for a $40 million opening and $125 million finish.

April 26th -

JASON X // Horror films usually open big and show significant drops in the other weeks. Since this is the long-awaited sequel to a popular franchise, look for a $25 million opening and a $50 million total, meaning it will earn half of its total in one week.

LIFE OR SOMETHING LIKE IT // I see this one being a hit. Angelina Jolie, even though her movies usually suck, is still a popular actress, and this looks to be a modest hit. Look for a $14 million opening and a $45 million total.

I think Frailty will actually be a sleeper hit. The word of mouth so far has been A M A Z I N G and good word of mouth can do wonders for a flick like this.
