Superman Returns *Spoiler*

hi,

I put spoiler because i don't want people going at me for spoiling the movie.

How can superman have a kid i mean the only woman that can have his kid is wonder woman, the people who'll understand are the people who have watched mallrats.

Superman should be a spokesman for a hair gel company, whatever happened to him his hair wasn't messed up

It's a very strange concept and I'm not really sure how it works to be honest. I try not to think too hard about the physical aspect of this (like in Mallrats and the exploding fallopian tubes) and wonder if it's possible biologically. There have been multiple variations of Superman over the years. Some of them depict him as very alien-like where he even speaks kryptonian and he has very little human characteristics. Other interpretations depict him as essentially a human with super powers. Although I don't think any interpretation in the comic book had him father a human child (I'm not 100% sure about this but I don't think it happened) I don't mind that Singer threw it in. Basically, every author of the comic book had a different view of Superman, so if Singer wants to have his own view, I don't see a problem. Remember, this movie is not comic book accurate whatsoever, so I guess it's ok for him to give Superman whatever characteristics he sees fit.

SPOILERS FOR SUPERMAN MOVIES

You could go by Superman II (with Reeve) where they sleep together in the Fortress of Solitude. Yes he was human, but DNA is DNA. I don't quite buy this story because at the end of the flick she forgets everything and therefore would have no idea how she gave birth to Superman's child in Superman Returns.

My theory is sometime before Superman left to go find Krypton, they hook up. He leaves, and she's pissed and writes that article. That's my theory.



And why is this in the Upcoming Movie thread?

Simple answer for both questions... ITS A COMIC BOOK MOVIE! Sure maybe in the real world Wonder Woman's uterus is the only thing capable of holding Superman's baby (plus that whole idea is just another Kevin Smith fantasy concept used as a joke, just like there were only indepedent contractors in the second deathstar at the time of its destruction... even though both idea make sence) plus the child didn't even realize his strength until Superman Returns so i don't think he'd be kicking any holes through Lois' belly... and about the hair, Jesus Christ come on! Quit being such a nitpick! If we're going to go down that road you might as well ask how Spiderman breaths so well during fighting with his mask on

That holds no water becasue Lois was mad because he left without saying goodbye.

Truth is, she DIDNT know it was his kid. Hence her surprised look.

Superman basically date raped her.

I agree. I guess it was thrown in because this Superman was very lonely to the point where he disappeared for 5 years in hopes of finding any remnants of his own civilization. I'm not pissed that the kid was in it, I'm pissed about how he was used. If Superman was that desperate to find someone he can related to, how come the only thing he does when he finds out there is a half-kryptonian (who happens to be his son) is give a speech while the kid is sleeping? That was kind of weak

It does seem to be the "American" way, nowadays - doesn't it?

All joking aside; she could've been pissed that he didn't say goodbye after they slept together. I know that's happened to guys all over the place.

His speech allows the child to know that he will be there for him. I don't think Jason was in a deep sleep, cause the moment he flies out the window Jason tells him, "Good night!"

When Lois sees Supes outside she asks him, "Will we (her and Jason) see you around." He replies the standard, "I'm always around." Some didn't quite understand that he really means, "I'll always be here for the two of you." He obviously doesn't want to intrude on Richard's territory, but he will be there to guide Jason and hopefully one day tell him of his true heritage.

...alos, one of my biggest gripes with the film was the weak ass reason Supes left when things were going soooooooooooooo good.

He gets the girl, MIND WIPES the girl AFTER SEX, (WAY TO GO SUPES! U ROCK!) and then takes up and leaves!

...and then the bastard has the balls to act hurt when she movies on without him!?:p

Think about it.

He mind wipes Lois but leaves the location of the fortress, ect, ect, and all of Luthors memories intact. How is that fair? How is that even smart??:p

Like ive said in other threads, Singers LOVE for the originals fucked this movie up for me. It weas still pretty decent, but it shoulda rocked like no other. Hes gotta trust himself more and stop kissing the ass of whats come before.
