I really liked the trailer, and it atleast beat last year's Saw II trailer.

Will lthe scene with the guy with all the chains on his body be a hommage to Hellraiser...? I sure hope so!

Yahoo Movies has the trailer up and running right now (and it's the most watched as well).
Looks like Dina Meyer finally gets to have a torture scene...I wonder if it will be the first death like they did in SAW II.

Ugh them more I watch that trailer the dumber the flick looks. The whole chain scene looks fucking stupid. "Rip out the chains or die hahahahahahaha" LAME.
Once again I really enjoyed the first 2 but this looks really really really bad.

Meh. It looks more of the same. Which I guess isn't that bad since the first two were okay.

I'd love to be able to view this SAW 3 teaser trailer. But all I see is balck screen with audio. What the hell?
Why's that happening?

It quotes Ezekiel 21: 33-37. However, the 21st chapter of Ezekiel only has 32 verses. The quote from the trailer semi-quotes verse 32 however...
Just so you know...

the only real problem i have with the Saw movies is that most of the traps and scenarios require lots of "man power". i just couldn't belive that Jigsaw and/or assistant at the time would have the time to set everything up by themselves... and who pays for all the materials needed? sorry, my fault for trying to bring logic into thriller/horror movie. :P

*spoilers*
Other than the laughably awful captions in the trailer that make absolutely no sense, the problem is that it shows no plot at all. None! it's just shots of torture scenarios and we don't even get to see exacfly what the torture entangle. And what the hell's with Jigsaw looking all nice and dandy? Didn't get the shit kicked out of him and killed in possibly the most enjoyable scene of the franchise? Maybe a flashback but if not, it's insulting.

Uh, I think the trailer was shit too but your no plot complaint is pretty pointless. I think most people know what Saw is, and besides the plot of it will be paper thin so who cares :)

This one suggests zilch. Unless the movie REALLY is plotless (eventhough I read it was about some girl who had to keep Jigsaw alive (I hope she fails))which is what it should be since the writers are too terrible to handle the contrived, convoluted plots they're trying to write.

I wouldn't say that. SAW's plot was solid if predicatable, and remember the plot of SAW 2 wasn't even meant to be for a SAW movie. It was another project that writer was working on at the time.
I can see SAW 3 being at least as good as the original and a step up from the second.

Same goes for Saw II. I don't see Saw III being any different. But I'm not expecting a good plot; just good kills since it's the only thing these movies do right.

It looks like the same stuff as the previous two; which is good if you ask me. I am looking forward to seeing this and I'm hoping it delivers like the previous two did (both 7/10s for me :D).

Yes, that and underlay a great message while saving the genre from the watered down brand of "horror" that's been killing it for the psat several years, and delivering two terrific performances that have grown throughout the franchise to be the center of this film, either of which are vastly superior to those in the films that so love to lambast the SAW franchise so much can't stop lauding (ie. Seven, a mediocre at best, predictable, vastly overrated borefest guilty of the same flaws SAW haters constantly throw around).
No, the trailer doesn't indicate a plot, but it's only a teaser. There is one, and it's not paper thin.

When I saw the trailer at the theater I kinda felt like Charlie in the "Charlie Gets Crippled" episode of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia... The part where Frank fakes being handicapped so he doesn't have to take Charlie to the strip club with him to pick up chicks anymore. "NOOOOO! NOOOO! No, Frank, NO! Come here! Come HERE!"

For the life of me I do not understand this position. I have said this before, but since this issue is being brought up again, I am going to repeat myself.
The Saw series is not saving the genre. It is doing the exact opposite. It is doing its part to bring horror down. I love the horror genre. My very first vivid memory of seeing a movie in a theater is Pet Semetary, and I have loved horror ever since. But the worthless fucking Saw movies do nothing but dumb down horror. Four huge problems that I believe are plaging horror are displayed front and center in the Saw movies: 1) overdirection; 2) hyperediting; 3) pounding music; 4) gore for nothing but shock value. The Saw movies utilize each of these and wear them as a badge of honor. I would argue that there is no underlying "great message" in the Saw movies. Even reading that makes me laugh my ass off. But that isn't my main problem with the Saw movies. If you like them for the way they kill people, fine. To each their own. But saving the horror genre? Bullshit. Because of Saw and its sequels, we'll get more movies that pound the viewer into submission with their ADD editing style, excessive and obnoxious music, over the top gore that exists for no other reason than to "shock" viewers and directing that goes for style over substance with crazy camera angles and any other cheap tricks that can be thought of.
A plot that is not thin in a Saw movie? I shudder to think that people actually believe that.

Madsen is kicking ass again, great post. I said it before, I'll say it again about Saw III. If they focus less on their storyline and just treat it like Final Destination 2 (all about the kills/traps), it could be somewhat entertaining.

I'll take the Saw movies over Pet Semetary any day.
I'll also take the Save movies over almost every slasher flick that came out in the 80's.
Finally, I'm starting to get tired of all these ghost stories that keep coming out. We've got two of them, The Grudge 2 and The Return, and they both look tiresome. So I'll take the Saw movies over anymore ghost stories as well.

Well before anyone should judge this movie lets just remember that it's a teaser, not the actual trailer. The only thing we can really do is just wait and see.

I agree. You can't ever really tell that much from a teaser.
P.S. - I really liked the first one. I was so sure that the second one would be terrible, but I liked it just as much as the first. All I have to say after watching the teaser for numero 3; I hope the trend continues.

you don't have the proper video codec, that's why it's happening.
download this (http://www.free-codecs.com/K_Lite_Codec_Pack_download.htm)
if that doesn't help, get this (http://download.divx.com/divx/DivXInstaller.exe)

One of these (http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=Saw+III) should work.
When you need a video just go to YouTube even before Yahoo Movies.
