A new movie is coming out ether this October or next and it is about Jesus being black. This will be very intersting because I do believe Jesus was a man of color I mean look where they were Egypt and The Middle East.

What do you guys think?

Definitely tanned. Darkly tanned is possible.

But in the modern sense of the world, not black.

IMDB link, please. Or is this just a joke?

He wasn't black, most likely. Considering he grew up in Israel, he would have been deeply tan. He wouldn't be butt white like so many pictures that depict him show, but he would be tan.

Again, that's most likely. :)

Is it a comedy because if its Dave Chappelle I'll go see it?

I doubt this will be a comedy some people would be pissed to see Jesus get made fun of.

Jesus -- nay, religion needs to be made fun of. Because its too serious.

History of The World Part 1 did it a bit...Hindus were made fun of in Bubble Boy -- Jews are made fun of in countless movies -- and Team America got the ball rolling on just religion in general...as did Bruce Almighty...but we just need a blatantly over the top epic making fun of religion. People need to lighten up and just do it.

The film is called Son of Man (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0492490/). It premeried on Sundance and has played many festivals since. Including Cannes, out of competition of course, iirc.

Doesn't sound like a comedy to me. Who knows, though.

Who cares if Jesus was black? Does that honestly change a single thing?

Why make a movie about it? If it isn't a comedy, I'll probably be staying as far away from it as I can.

Didn't Albert Einstien write a book about several observations he had on the world etc. One of them centered on the journey of christ in which he says that Jesus was black(african decent)? I wonder if it's based on this book.
