Ace Ventura Jr. Coming to the Big Screen
Source: The Hollywood Reporter August 15, 2006
Production company Morgan Creek has hired Jeff Sank and brothers Jason and Justin Heimberg to write a third installment of the hit franchise "Ace Ventura," says The Hollywood Reporter.
The two previous Jim Carrey comedies -- 1994's Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and the following year's Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls -- grossed more than $180 million domestically.
The latest pet project is expected to center on the eccentric detective's son, who steps into his father's shoes to take over the family business.

My thoughts exactly.
I can see this one going straight to DVD in no time.

I actually liked the previous films. And I also think that Carrey was the main reason why they worked, with anyone else in the lead they would probably have been pretty awful.
So yeah, this sounds like an extremely lame idea.

:( I was hoping that they'd make a third Ace movie starring Jim Carrey. I always loved those movies.

I swear to god, if I see a "Young Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind", someone's going to have to get stabbed in the face. They already tried this with 2 famous Carrey films and both failed...they should learn from their mistakes. But, something tells me that they won't and "Cable Boy", "Boy on The Moon" and "Me, My Younger Self and Irene" aren't too far off in the making.

First was Dumb and Dumberer.
Then came the idiotic looking sequel, Son of the Mask.
And now this?
I haven't seen Dumb and Dumberer or Son of the Mask because both look awful. This will likely end up joining those other two as well.
And what's next?
The Cable Guy Jr.?

Oh no,
This is just a bad idea. Can you imagine some kid trying to act like Jim Carrey? I saw enough of that back in school when Ace Ventura was the most watched movie for ages.

This is kind of sounding like George of the Jungle 2. Just leave a good thing alone and please don't poison it with the concept of a cute little kid.
Yeah, I'm going to have to give a thumbs down on this idea. Shame shame Hollywood...

This is an awful idea. I guess studio execs did not learn anything from the disasters that were Son of the Mask and Dumb and Dumberer. I hope they pump 100 million into this bad boy so the dumb fucks who greenlit this thing get fired for making this sure to be piece of shit.

Will Courtney Cox be the mother?
You would think that somebody would learn from the two previous bombs that were spinoffs of Carrey movies - but that's Hollywood for you - short term memory. It's an idiotic idea for a movie and maybe, I doubt it - but maybe, Hollywood will learn that there is no substitute for Jim Carrey.

it's really a shame cause ace ventura is one of the few cases where the sequel was better than the original (IMO). I could only imagine what a third one would be like WITH jim carey, if it would have held the same promise......but I guess we'll never know cause now this movie is destined to be a failure with out Jim.
Suck my balls Jeff Sank, suck them hard......and don't forget to invite the god damn Heimberg brothers with ya!!!

What other random crap can they make? Like this movie needs to be made! No-one will be able to fill the role of jim careys son and be able to pull it off like the original. they will make it and it will dissapear quickly in the B.O.

Really? I didn't like the second one at all compared to the first... but then again, that's just my opinion as well.
As long as we both agree that making a third one is an absolutly idiotic idea... ;)

Sequels..Prequels..Spinoffs of Jim Carrey movies without Jim in them have all been terrible. Why hasn't Hollywood learned this yet?
you would think that making a third movie with jim that it would make a helluva lot of money. i'm surprised that Fire Marshall Bill's son hasn't made an appearance yet..
