IMDB is reporting that Phillipe has nabbed the role of Harvey Dent. Hopefully this gets confirmed soon. Very interesting choice.

IMDB also posted that Kate Beckinsale was Wonder Woman when JoBlo posted it as a prank on April Fools.
They circulate the latest rumors, Phillipe has been a Dent rumor for a while, sources say his “people" say they know nothing, and Warner Bros. says “no comment.” Take all this for what you will...

I f Aunt May turned out to be Carnage i would puke.
Not because of how aweful that would be, but because Carnage is a complete waste of a character and unneeded rip of Venom.
But now im ranting.
To be completely honest, i really dont care who Nolan casts as who, i have complete faith that the guy could probably get an oscar performance out of a rock.
Holmes was his worst choice so far, but it wasnt really her as much as her part wasnt really needed for a Batman movie other then to have ANOTHER one-part love interest to fade away completely in future movies.

Heath Ledger as the Joker, that I can get behind. Ryan Phillipe is another matter. There's just nothing about him that says either Harvey Dent or Two-Face to me.
Get Guy Pearce on the phone with Nolan. NOW.

I have the same response to this as I did with the Heath Ledger as Joker news - I hope it isn't true. The Ledger thing was eventually confirmed, I hope to God that Phillipe doesn't get the same thing. Nolan's damn good, but if this turns out to be true, then I'm going to start questioning the man until I see the actual movie (and maybe prove me wrong).

Guys, the rumorORIGINATED in STAR magazine, and from there wentto IMDB via an idiot poster.
How true do youthink this could be?
A couple weeks ago John Cusack was rumored to HAVE the role, signed and dotted. But it was debunked.
And remember the whole 'ESCAPE FROM EARTH' thing - not true. Just wait for it, it'll fall apart.

I don't mind Heath Ledger as Joker at all.
But PLEASE don't make Ryan Phillipe Harvey Dent. Ryan Phillipe may be my least favourite actor in Hollywood.
I've only seen him in two roles, Cruel Intentions and Gosford Park, and I thought he was absolutely horrible in both. I'm not usually one who notices good or bad acting unless it's really good or bad, but I really noticed him in both movies. To me at least, it constantly looked like he was "acting". What I mean is, I just didn't see him as a character, but instead I saw him as a guy trying to act, and failing.

Heath Ledger as the Joker is tolerable, but Ryan Phillipe as Harvery Dent would make me have some serious doubts on where this movie is going. Last I heard Chris Nolan gave Liev Schreiber an open offer (please take it!) and even if Schreiber passes on it, Phillipe is NOT a comparable replacement.

He might have wanted a bigger role, the Penguin role is supposedly small so maybe thats why he has yet to sign. I dont like it but I think PSH could play Catwoman if he really wanted to.

Apparently its being reported that Katie Holmes is getting in shape very quickly to start filming the sequel.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE let this be a lie or at the very least, have some villain in the sequel off her in the first act. PLEEEEEEEEEEAAASE!!
The only reason Nolan had her cast in the role was that she was the ONLY actor in the film under 30 that younger audiences would easily recognize (nope Cillian Murphy is not a draw for teen audiences). Cause outside of movie forums, no one really knew who the fuck Christian Bale was before Batman Begins (Yes, even if you mentioned American Psycho AND The Machinist).
Nolan also knew what a weak actress she was and made her screen time short or had her unconscious.

In the end Tom Cruise will throw a hissy fit yelling at every studio boss in Hollywood about how Holmes is the best actress of her generation and should be the lead in Dark Knight.

If Clive Owen could do a better American accent I'd be all about him as Harvey Dent. Pheonix not so much, I think hes a great actor but I dont like him in that role. Liev Schreiber or Guy Pearce better take this part. As for Katie Holmes, I'm glad shes coming back because I hate the "dissapearing character" act but I do hope she dies in the first half of the movie at the hands of the Joker.

If she doesn't appear she'll probably be talked about since Harvey Dent is in the movie it's more than likely she'll be in it. I think he should be her new boss because her other one was killed. And Dent should be older than Ledger and Bale because Dent was always smarter than the two.

Alright I need to vent here... Fuck Ryan Phillipe as Two-Face!!!
And I truely hate to do this because everytime someone doubts a new actor in an established role, it pisses me off more than anything! BUT ARE YOU KIDDING?! Nothing about the guy is Two-Face, don't get me wrong, I think he's a real decent actor but Two-Face he is not! His looks are too soft, he very much has a baby-face, none of his past work has shown a range in acting ability. Why would he even be an option?! Fork out some fucking money and get Liev Schreiber at whatever cost!! Fuck! Get Tommy Jones back... I'm down for that! But I'm done with the whole "In Nolan We Trust" it's over now... And I thought Ledger was a a perfect choice! And sure, Ryan Phillipe will probably do an amazing job and I'll look back and say "damn, I was a fucking dumb ass" (and if I'm still around I'll let you guys take shots at me) but it could have been so much better

I think Liev or Guy would be great as Harvey Dent. He is one of the more fascinating Batman characters, and Two-Face is one of my favorite villians. Ryan is just wrong for the role. I don't think he's a bad actor, but I just can't picture him.

I don't think that Ryan Philippe would be a good pick for Harvey Dent, just doesn't seem right for the role. I thought that Tommy Lee Jones could have done a better job in the role, but he was a victim of bad writing. The last three Batman films were horrible, they should have never been released. Liev Shrieber and Guy Pearce are both interested picks, but I just couldn't see Ryan Philippe as Two Face.

Id like to see Guy Peirce as THE RIDDLER rather then Two-Face. He would be perfect for it in my opinion.
I dont mean the Riddler prancing about in his jammies like BATMAN AND ROBIN either, but rather more like the cartoon, where hes pretty much in control, sharp as a tack, and wears a suit and tie.

I'm with you, Shockwave, that's my preference for the Riddler too. However, the Riddler has become more or less of a running joke in recent years, ever since Batman Forever, that's one of the reasons why he was such an effective choice for being the mastermind behind HUSH, no one saw it coming (including Batman) because no one gave the Riddler enough credit. I think you're right, though, I'd rather have the TAS riddler, suit and tie, sharp as a tack, and a real threat to Batman, rather than the movie version that Jim Carrey put out there.

Well, you can't really blame Carrey for his portrayal of the Riddler since the only point he had to reference was Frank Goshin in the original TV series. I'm sure Shumacher wasn't smart enough to give Carrey a few comic books for research.....

While I was watching the film for the first time, the SECOND the D.A. got two in the back of the head I turned to my friend and I said, "FuckinA, man, we get to see a good Two Face." Now that is being threatened by malicious rumors of NOT casting Liev in the part, who would be utterly perfect. I nearly cried (well, not really, but it was a very dramatic moment for me) when I read on BOF that Liev was out of the running. I REALLY hope its not true. However, Paul Bettany would have made THE best fucking joker, AND HE'S BRITISH (note Nolans habit of casting English actors) but that didnt exactly pan out, so who knows.
On the flip side, I do like the idea of having a black Harvey Dent ALA Denzel Washington or Terrance Howard (although, while he plays intense EXTREMELY well, he's not good looking enough for the part). As long as its one of those too, I wouldnt mind a black Two Face, but ONLY if its one of those two. Two Face could be black specifically so those actors could play him, not the other way around.
Although, I've said it before and I'll say it again, Chris Nolan has to be the dumbest genius I know of, so who the hell knows whats gonna go down.
