Last week, I purchased "The Magnificent Seven" at Best Buy, I get home, and I put it in. Turns out that it doesn't require English Subtitles because I need it since I have a partial hearing loss. I bring it back to Best Buy to the Return Desk and I told them what the problem was. They said they can't take it because it has been unwrapped and opened. They only could take it if it has a dent or scratch on the CD. So now I wasted 15 bucks on this. Isn't that a load of bullshit?

Scratch it with a knife.

. . . and then receive another copy if they buy it. Sure, it'll be useless but they'll have lost a copy.

How is someone supposed to know if something's wrong with the DVD unless they open it? Kinda the other way around. That was probably a newbie working there who told you that. That's happened to me before.

I remember when I returned Domino because I accidentally grabbed the Fullscreen version. The guy told me he didn't care if it was from Target and opened, he would've let me get another copy.

i remember when i bought 2 fast 2 furious from bestbuy and i bought the full screen and wanted the widescreen and mine was opened and they returned it. i just said it skipped in my dvd player so you dont have to actually scratch the dvd itself just say it skips in your player and then i went to grab the widescreen and brought it to the counter and she was lke you know you grabbed the widescreen right? and i was like ya i actually meant to do this in the first place so i kinda lucked out that the full screen skipped in my dvd player. but she knew it didnt skip and that i was just exchanging for the ws version. i just thought that was funny.

also they wont return any movie that has been opened its just policy cuz you could of burned it they will only exchange it for the same thing

Opened DVD's will be exchanged for the SAME item only...
If its an obscure title usually they will allow you to get something else or issue you a credit. Places like BestBuy are getting strict on opened product in regards to DVD's that come back opened. They could have taken the DVD back but then they would either discount the openend DVD and take a loss on the difference or make an attempt to get credit back but unless there was a manufacture defect on the DVD Best Buy takes a choke on whatever retail price that DVD currently goes for.

All DVD's are supposed contain all the specs on the BACK of the disc. At least 1/4 of DVD Films do NOT have english subtitles soooooo did you CAREFULLY read the information on the back?

Ummmmmm dennisv there must be a used record shop in your area that buys DVD's...... You make take a loss on what you paid for but I know majority of used record shops offer and CREDIT value system.
