not sure if this has been posted since I can't find anything through search or the main news page, but if not..I don't know how this slipped by the news editors.

simply said this is becoming an epic Fincher film.

I found this part from the third review kinda strange:

"What is wrong with the movie? Too much humor. I don't mean unintended humor where the audience is laughing at the absurdity of what they are seeing, I mean there were genuinely funny moments that deserved laughs and got them but just too many of them. I felt that the movie was too light for the subject matter it was dealing with."

Too light for the subject matter it's dealing with? That was probably the last thing I expected to hear.

It's also interesting hear that the movie doesn't look like a typical Fincher film, and that it has a very All the President's Men feel to it (All the President's Men is one of Fincher's favourite movies).

so the title is changed? when did that happend?

anyway, im realy hyped about this movie. Fincher is my favoritte director, and its a serialkiller-movie. so i dont think it can be bad

I'm guessing it was a reluctant title change done to distance this movie from all of the cheap direct-to-video Zodiac movies that have come out recently. I think there have been at least two this year alone.

I have read both of Graysmith's books about the Zodiac and I don't remember much intentional humor in either one.

They changed the title from what I heard a month or two ago but according to the front page news here at JoBlo, the studio says it's ZODIAC so it sounds like they changed it back...

Keep in mind that that review is from a little while ago at AICN and that could be why it's called CHRONICLES there....

and yeah, they did it to distance it from the Robin Tunney (re: crappy) filim of the same name...I'm hoping that JoBlo is right and it's back to Zodiac cause Chronicles is just bland.

Anyone know why that poster doesn't say "from the director of Seven and Fight Club"? The fuck is up with Panic Room?

I believe the title was changed due to another Zodiac movie being released by another studio at around the same time...

Think about this one...even though many people have seen Fight Club and love it, it's not really categorized as a thriller (although someplaces might), while Se7en and Panic Room are great thrillers. It just fits the genre better, even though it's not as popular. That's my belief, anyway.

Yeah, I don't know why the went with "Panic Room" instead of "Fight Club" but I have to say, that's because Panic Room was very dark and realistic, and it left a mark - perhaps they're trying to market it by showing grittiness and realism Fincher brings to his films? Don't forget, Se7en was dark!
