Any of you schomes ever went to a concert because you really liked the band and they sounded great on CD but then when you went to the concert they just flat out sucked?

(I went to Metallica in the summer of 2003 and I was disapointed with the show. I don't know if they were just having a bad night or what but I thought it would be a lot better than it was.)

When I saw Soundgarden play Lollapalooza in 1996 I couldn't wait to hear this band that made this amazing album "Superunknown". Boy was I disappointed, they had no energy or stage presence. Only Chris Cornell seemed to be enjoying himself. I said to my self "I think this band is gonna break up". Two years later I was right. I know, I know you're probably saying "yeah right". I'm not saying I'm psychic or anything, I just had the feeling that the band wasn't having fun.

Death Cab For Cutie.

They are a good band, but the show I saw them at was just....blah. There was no energy or enjoyment. The crowd looked like they wanted to kill themselves.

That and I saw Nine Inch Nails/Queens of the Stone Age/Autolux the very next night and they fucking pwned the crowd. So you really can't compete with that. I pretty much forgot that DCFC played the night before.

Looking back on that show, if I had the chance to go again, I wouldn't.

goldfinger.Even though i did have high hopes for them in the first place, they played with reel big fish(who were great by the way), all goldfinger did were bitch about "o bush is gay." and "we are vegans." and "I Hate Ted Nugen". don't get me wrong I have no opinion on bush at all. i don't like him, i don't hate him. But the last fucking thing i need is some whiney poser-punk band preaching to me on why to be a vegan and a democrat and a actavist. it fucking iritates the shit out of me these days.

Disturbed... All members except David were on their game, he just didn't sound very good... I know he was having voice/throat issues and shit, just not the same live... Still love their shit, but then he went on some patriotic rant, spewing bullshit rhetoric for no apparent reason, which was just pointless... People there don't give a FUCK about politics, they just want to rock.... So fuck that noise.

I'll keep buying their records, but I'd be surprised if I saw them live again.... (Although Dan is the fucking man live!) :p

I would recommend seeing them again. I saw them just a couple weekends ago at Ozzfest, and they were back on top. Undoubtedly the best act on the bill.

Mine would have to be Fear Factory. They were supposedly great back in the day, but when I went and saw them, while they played well, and didn't miss a note, including Burton's vocals, they just pretty much stood there rigidly on the stage, headbanging, but never really moving. The crowd kinda didn't know what to make of it...

Def Leppard

They weren't terrible, but I was expecting one helluva show. They were pretty decent, but nothing great. Maybe it had to do with their age, but I mean, I saw Judas Priest a few months after that, and they blew my ass away, same goes with The Stones, Motley Crue, Robert Plant, etc, so I wouldn't really use the age thing as an excuse. Still, a decent show, but definitely a letdown.

Autolux kicks fucking ass.

Yeah, the Cure completely bummed me out. They set felt like it was 12 hours long. Very disappointed.

Have you seen them live?

Their album has to be one of the best rock albums of the past 10 years. But they fucking rule live. Take their record and imagine it VERY LOUD.

Agreed. Disturbed hands down stole the show at Ozzfest.

U2

Absolutely fucking horrible in concert. They were off key, the music was terrible, Bono talked half the time about world events. Bono looked greasy and would suddenly start talking about John Lennon and would sing part of a Beatles song.. It was just a mess of a show.

This is coming from a fan of theirs for years..and I was excited to get a chance to see them in concert as I missed their last two tours due to some other events in my own life..and I wish now I would have missed this tour..such a joke..

Agreed. I love Death Cab For Cutie but they're really not a band to see live. I think this has a lot to do with their fans though, songs like Why You'd Want To Live Here make you want to jump around and scream but all the damn emo kids wont move a muscle.

Unfortunately I haven't. I love overly loud, dynamic bands live. Like Mogwai. I saw some guys shirt move from the sound. Wild.

U2? WHAT!?!?!?! this last tour was amazing! Difference of opinion I guess?

Deftones. Saw them at KROQ Weenie Roast and they sucked! They used to be good when they were new and played the heavy stuff! Now all the lead singer does is whine, when he sings.

Also, MARS VOLTA. HORRIBLE!

BEST LIVE BAND OF ALL TIME....

RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE (such a shame they broke up!)

OTHER NOTABLE BEST LIVE BANDS:
Soulfly
Foo Fighters
Radiohead
Face to Face (too bad they broke up)
Powerman 5000
Rollins Band

I was really looking forward to seeing Jimmy eat world at the Green Day concert, but they were pretty boring. Probably cause they didnt play any of my favourite songs.

Best ban of seen live is My Chemical Romance.
