ever since i saw them perform earlier in the year on Conan, i was a BSS fan. And then I bought their self-titled album around March...and havent stopped listening to it since. i listen to it constantly.

it's some of the most energetic, sometimes happy and fast, sometimes very sad and slow, beautiful, blatantly emotional music i've ever heard. Their music really feels like an experience, like very cinematic and theatrical.

most people seem to prefer thei second album, "You Forgot It In people"....and that has some great tracks...my favorite being "KC Accidental"...but i really feel their more current album is their blatant masterpiece.

their first album "Feel Good Lost" is also very good. it's so subtle and sad. and mainly instrumentals... it's very minimalistic and harmonious and just the basics of what makes BSS good. "Guilty Cubicles" and "Passport Radio" are just so overwelmingly beautiful.

their music seems tailor made for the lonely, the heartbroken, the tragedy-stricken, the lovers. Their self-titled album album really connected with me, as i lost a good friend not too long ago. It really helped me out. and it's important when you're in those situations to have something like music to connect to...

i love all of the songs of their self-titled, but if i had to pick two favorites, they'd be "Superconnected" and "It's All Gonna Break"...

another thing i love about Broken Social Scene's music is how multi-layed the music is....like when i'm listening to it....i'll pick up on a guitar rythem or something i didnt notice before (cause there are like 5 guitars in the band)

what are your thoughts on this band? what are your favorite tracks? what does the music mean to you?

I fucking love this band!

7/4 (Shoreline) is probably my favorite song from them. That song is just...amazing.

God. I love this band to death. I remember that performance on Conan, and at the end Conan said something like, "I think you need more guitars!". You Forget It In People is one of my favourite albums, can't get enough of that shtuff. The self-titled is just fantastic, and it's one of those albums that just really speaks to you, like it could act as the soundtrack to your life. Well, maybe that's just me.

I saw them for the first time over the summer, and it was easily one of the best shows I've ever seen. They play with so much energy and enthusiasm, you can't not dance and sing along and just have a freakin' great time. If you're fan, and haven't seen them, I say get on that asap...or, whenever they decide to re-surface and tour/record again. I got to talk to Brandon, the bassist, after the show, and he was just overall a very cool dude.

I've been hooked for a while. Easily one of my favourite bands of all-time (Canadian too! whoot..)

ehhh, it looks like a potientially good movie, but actually, they're just using alot of music from their first two albums, Feel Good Lost and You Forgot It In People....no new music which is lame.....and it's dangerous when an indie film overuses music from a certain artist of band....like take for instance, Love Liza, with it's useage of Jim O'Rourke music...great music....but it was used in such a way that didnt fit the film or help it out or move it along or provide depth....it was just sitting there, probably cause the filmmaker was a fan.

but on a different note, i'm gonna be seeing Broken Social Scene at the 9:30 Club at DC this November, i'm mad excited.
