MORE DVD BITCHING

I suppose I could have just added this into one of the other five dvd threads there are but they've all reached a length I'm uncomfortable with. Plus I think this is a new complaint, or at least I've yet to read about here.

I can't fuckin stand the plastic rectangles inside of dvds that hold the thefy control thing. When I open a new dvd I go through my OCD process of peeling off every single sticker I can find and emptying the case of all the adds, warnings, and bullshit save for an essay or chapter list. And then I have to take out that fuckin black rectangle. Those fuckers drive me nuts...it like a black spot on a white dress of something. And i bite my nails so taking this fucker out is like pulling out my nails unless I've got a nail clipper or somthing to pry it up with because they used a mixture of cement, glue, and semen to stick it inside the case. I hate those fuckers!


I even find them in graphic novels I buy from hastings or barnes and noble. And the best part of this shit is...if you wanna steal a dvd from walmart or any other store with a the the metal dectors things you walk through, you put the dvds ina bag and then put the bag over your head as you walk through the sensors.

Thank God! Finally, another rant! We were stuck at 1,529 rants for over a week! It was getting so boring without a new one!

...Anyway, I just tried getting those damn stickers off my new "Marked For Death" Steven Seagal DVD, and it now has that sticky residue is over the bottom, side and top slips.

I totally agree, it freaking sucks that they bother with that extra "protection" when they already have a plastic cover. Damn the DVD makers to Hell!

I hate to open the dvds. You have the plastic and them you have to peel 2 to 3 white plastic labels off each side. Then you have a residue left behind or sometimes it tears the cover. Thats pisses me off so bad. I actually took a dvd back to the store because that happened and told them that the dvd didnt play. They gave us another copy. Then there was one time when a dvd didn't play, it would skip. My wife took it back and the girl working there put a sticker on it then she rip it off because she didnt have anymore copies left. She ripped the cover and I told my wife to make that girl write on the copy what she did and her name. So the store knows it was not our fault but it was that girls.

The Chapter list is lucky to be there on certain movies. Remember when you use to get other things besides that? How about coupons for other movies? Now they just throw the dvds in the case. How about giving us better looking dvds themselves. Some look so shitty. No effect was put into these things anymore.

I don't know what it's called but I hate some of the discs in certian cases, like terminator 2 ultimate edition, I was nearly bending the discs almost trying to get it open because I couldn't just push my index finger down on the center like some cases.

other than that I do hate platic wrapping sometimes and sometimes when I peel it off, at the top, some sticky leftover is stuck on the cover.

I think the worst is when I noticed some small details on the dvd covers of the sopranos, I accidently read the back of season 5 when I was currently in season 3 or 4 I think, to see a spoiler written in the dam decription, and look close enough and you can see some cast member not on the box because he or she died, so I tried not to look at the covers. My bad for that though.

I hate those DVDs out there that list as Specil Features, Interactive menus and scene selection. Anything that is set up to allow me to see your product isn't a feature. It's like buying a good novel and having plasterd on the front "Table of Contents and cover included!" as a feature.

You know I hate those damn security stickers cause sometimes when you go to take them off you fuck up the plastic slip case of your dvd and I fucking hate that shit!!!!:o

Yeah there is nothing more anoying than sitting there and spinning a fucking dvd until you get every damn sticker of and then opening it and seeing the little black magnetic strip but even worse is if its an old movie and the magnetic strip is even bigger and u have to use your fingernail to get it off and you stab yourself damnit!!!!!

They even put the black stickers on TV boxed sets. You try removing them from the cover and it rips the cardboard if you;r not careful.

I use to have a graveyard night watch job and I could take my laptop to work at night and watch movies during the night, so almost every morning I would stop by walmart to see if there was any good dvds to watch that night (if you are wondering why I am nearing 1000 dvds that is one of the reasons) but my car at the time didn't lock very well (oh it locked but you couldn't unlock without almost breaking the key) so I would always walk my laptop bag in with me (who wants to leave a $1500 laptop in a car nowdays).

So every morning I'd walk through their little sensor and it would beep at me, it was kind of funny because they got so used to me that they never even looked at me when it beeped and I probably could have stolen half the store because I'd walk it would beep and the guy would wave me on. But eventually I got so sick of it beeping at me I got into the habit of ripping everyone of those little fuckers off, still do to this day.

Do you know where they are on snapper cases, you got unsnap the cases and they are behind the cardboard.

Oh and I hate them when they put them on the cardboard inside of box sets, almost have to destroy the box to get em off. Or in seasons where they put them behind the plastic.

I would love to not have to have dvds to watch movies with! I got tired of cds real quick after having to have four chest high racks for all of them. Now mp3s and vinyl are all I want to have around. dvds should go the way of cds soon (i hope)
