My top 5 of the year as of right now:
1. Brick
2. L'Enfant
3. Manderlay
4. The Illusionist
5. Little Miss Sunshine
Of these movies, I'm 100% sure that Brick & L'Enfant will still be here by the year's end (hell, it's possibly that neither of them would be removed from their respective positions), but the others are definitely going to be replaced.
I think The Black Dahlia, Little Children, and (IF it comes out this year, if not then replace it with either The Prestige or The Fountain) Inland Empire will end up rounding out the top 5.

whats funny is not one of those movies actualy qualify as a 2006 movie because of film festivals, well atleast according to IMDB, oh well everyone has they're own way of doing it. I qualified Brick as a 2006 because it never played in canada till then, but i did see Dead Man's Shoes 2 years ago lol.

4. Silent Hill
5. World Trade Center

Current top 5:
1. Little Miss Sunshine
2. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
3. United 93
4. Inside Man
5. Clerks II
I pretty much know this list is going to be entirely different come January. The only one I can see staying in the top 5 is Little Miss Sunshine, and possibly Pirates.
The 5 movies I can see taking over would be:
Flag Of Our Fathers
Babel
Children of Men
The Fountain
The Good German
EDIT: On more thought, I also think HALF NELSON and THE SCIENCE OF SLEEP have excellent chances making the top 5. I'm seeing (here's hoping) both in the next week or so. Pretty stoked.

How can no one else be looking forward to The Good Shepard? Last time Deniro directed a movie we got Bronx Tale, plus this is the first time Joe Pesci has been in a movie since 1998.
I'll be there opening day, one of my 3 most anticipated movies for 2006!

Current top 5:
1. World Trade Center
2. V for Vendetta
3. Mission: Impossible III
4. Silent Hill
5. Superman Returns
Of those, only World Trade Center will remain in my top 5 by year's end. But, unless 2006 turns out to be a TRULY amazing year, then World Trade Center WILL remain on my top 5. Infact, it's such an amazing movie that it will probably remain at #1.
My prediction of what my top 5 will be at the end of the year:
01. World Trade Center
02. Babel
03. The Departed
04. The Good Shepherd
05. Bobby
And the rest of the top 10: Charlotte's Web, V for Vendetta, Stranger Than Fiction, All the King's Men, Little Children.

current:
1) United 93
2) clerks II
3) Inside Man
4) Crank
5) M:i:III
yeah, somehow i don't see United budging, barring The Fountain coming up and completely blowing my mind, United is one of the most powerful pieces of film making i've ever had the pleasure to witness. and MiIII being the only movie i've seen 3 times this year, it deserves an (albeit temporary) spot up there.
Borat and The Prestige both stand a fine chance of piercing the top 5 as well.
and does the new 3D verrsion of Nightmare Before Christmas count as a 2006 movie?

My 2006 top 5 hasn't changed in a while - the last few months haven't been up to par. Upcoming flicks I'm betting have a very good chance:
The Prestige
Pan's Labrynth
The Fountain
Flags of our Fathers
Science of Sleep
Maybe The Departed, but I'm not Scorcese's biggest fan, so we'll wait and see. Hard to argue against that cast though.
