One of the closest directors we have today to a 'modern Hitchcock'. I've always been a fan of this man's films, and with The Black Dahlia coming out this Friday, I just thought it appropriate to ask everyone to list their favorites of De Palma.
My favorites:
http://us.movies1.yimg.com/movies.yahoo.com/images/hv/photo/movie_pix/mgm/carrie/_group_photos/sissy_spacek1.jpg
1. Carrie
2. Blow Out
3. Carlito's Way
4. Dressed to Kill
5. Body Double
6. Femme Fatale
7. The Untouchables
8. Sisters
9. The Black Dahlia
10. Raising Cain
Of the other films I've seen of his, I enjoyed them all (some in a so-bad-it's-good kind of way) with the exception of Mission to Mars & Scarface (his worst film IMO). Are The Fury, Casualties of War, and Bonfire of the Vanities worthy my time?

 for Scarface
both The Fury and Casualties are excellent films and definitely worth checking out. i also liked Bonfire, the direction is beautiful, but i had some problems with the plot and some of the acting
i find it kinda hard to put his films into a list as i really need to see some of them again but this is what it is at the moment (im sure Black Dahlia will end up being pretty high up on it)
Scarface
Phantom of the Paradise
The Untouchables
Mission: Impossible
Raising Cain
Carlito's Way
The Fury
Body Double
Femme Fatale
Blow Out

Scarface - 1983 (7/10)
Carrie (6/10)
Mission:Impossible (5/10)
Body Double (4/10)
Femme Fatale (4/10) , though I dug that erotic lesbian scence in the begining :D
Blow Out (4/10)
Dressed To Kill (4/10)
The Fury (4/10)
Snake Eyes (2/10) , Hitchcock must be rolling his grave on this movie...
Wise Guys (2/10)

1. Blow Out
2. Carlito's Way
3. Casualties of War
4. Carrie
5. Phantom of the Paradise
6. Dressed to Kill
7. Femme Fatale
8. Raising Cain
9. Sisters
10. Scarface
Snake Eyes, The Untouchables, Mission: Impossible, and Bonfire of the Vanities are all misfires on his behalf, and Mission to Mars is an absolute godawful turkey.
Hannibal, I think you would definitely LOVE Casualties of War. It's one of the best war films of the eighties.

personally I think that De Palma has only made two or three good films.
Carlito's Way
Femme Fatale
Scarface
Mission: Impossible
Every other one I have seen has been very average. Blow Out, Dressed To Kill, Mission To Mars, Obsession, and Snake Eyes, are all average flicks.

I haven't seen that many, really.
1. Blow Out
2. The Untouchables
3. Carrie
4. Scarface
That's it. Those first two are great movies, but the next two I've never seen what all the big hype was about. Still, I think The Black Dahlia looks amazing, and I'll hopefully be seeing it this weekend.

I loved it too. Also gave it an 8/10. It was slick, great cinematography, great story and great performances from Nicolas Cage and Gary Sinise.

Me Three
I'm a hugh fan of the film. I don't know why people dislike it so much. It's one of those films that I constantly here people say almost every time "it was very good up until the ending" And that's it people just didn't find the ending gratifying enough or found it to be so bad that they simply ended up hating it.

I hear that too but I don't understand what it is about the ending people hate. Is it because the ending is kinda dark in that Nic Cage's character, after deciding to actually do the right thing but ends up paying a price for that? I personally loved that about the ending.

Spoilers
absolutely, That's what makes the film great. He doesn't get away scott free. I mean his character ain't no saint lets face it. And what he does is only part of his redemption the other part is him going to jail for being a "bad cop" or better yet a corrupt cop.

I haven't seen that many of his films - since I consider the guy very hit-or-miss, but I'm a big fan of The Untouchables. That would be my favorite from the guy.
