I would most want a remake of Halloween 3 make it actually about Michael Myers. What remakes would you like to see?

The only movie I could ever imagine being remade is The Petrified Forest. And they'd probably fuck it up somehow.

Hollywood needs to stop fucking making remakes of Asian movies! They're better then ANY shit Hollywood comes up with.

I don't know, As Gordon said they seem to always mess them up. Before The Time Machine was made that would have been up there on my list but just look at what they did with that film.

I'd say The Taking of the Pelham 1,2,3 but again to me they'd just mess things up.

I had this movie in my mind that I think might be good as a remake with a right choice of actors and I would pay to see, but fuck, I forgot it.

Me and my friends talked about To Kill a Mockingbird for a remake and who would play Atticus Finch. We had so many choices to play him and it came down with Ralph Fiennes. What do you guys think?

Just picture Fiennes with glasses.

Most people will disagree with me, but ever since I've seen the movie, I've always thought that North by Northwest should be remade. It's such a cool plot that they could really do a lot of interesting and cool things with. It could be a really great, twisty thriller. I liked Hitchcock's flick but I thought it could have been so much better if it didn't have such a jokey, comedic tone. The movie was enjoyable, but the tone stinted the tension and I never believed for a second that the main character was in any real danger as a result. I want to see a remake that is darker and more exciting and lots of cool twists and turns.

I've always thought that cult classics are the way to go when it comes to remakes. I'd love to see a remake of that John Cusack movie, The Sure Thing.

I love Viking movies, and they should do a really good remake of the Norsemen, as well.

It's pretty random and it doesn't really need a re-make, but I always thought that Jack Black and Jason Lee could pull off a badass re-make of Blues Brothers. I would actually love to see this.

No movie "needs" a remake.

I've got no problem with remakes, other than it seems that Hollywood is running out of original ideas and wants to "upgrade" some old movie(s) into this decade.

There is a listing of this for this year but no one confirmed as of this moment according to IMDB... Ah-nuld was rumored for the Yul Brynner role but since hes da guvaner of Californea at da moment looks like they need to looook somewhea else. The orginal was okay but in need of some updating here and there.

I enjoyed every THIN MAN flicks both starring William Powell and Myrna Loy. The pairing of these 2 actors made the series VERY enjoyable!
Though the set up is the same the scenarios they are put thru and catchy and witty one liners made me like this sooooooooo much. They don't make flicks like this anymore. :(
Watching Myrna Loy as Nora Charles I see Renee Russo.... Dunno why :D

If they ever made another To Kill a Mockingbird, it technically wouldn't be a remake since the book is far more famous than the movie is. It would simply be another adaptation of it, or a "reimagining," as I've heard that sort of scenario referred to as. But Ralph Fiennes would be an inspired choice to play Atticus Finch. Just so long as they didn't cast Dakota Fanning as Scout, which I'm sure they would if it were to made anytime in the next couple of years.

I was thinking that remakes of classic comedies don't work very well. See Guess Who, The Pink Panther, or Mr. Deeds for proof. Or better yet, don't. They always try to make the humor more contemporary, which ruins the whole point of the movies in most cases. And remakes of older action movies rarely work because they get too carried away with updating the special effects and whatnot. And the less said about horror remakes, the better. Dramas do work sometimes though, like The Manchurian Candidate or the TV remake of 12 Angry Men.

Bonham mentioned a Blues Brothers remake with Jack Black and Jason Lee. While I love the original and hope they don't remake it ever, I gotta admit that those are the two perfect choices if they ever did remake it. The two of them in it might actually make me go see it in theaters.

Guess Who's Coming to Dinner? wasn't a comedy to begin with; it was a drama, and quite a serious one. The "remake," if you can call it that, was a comedy because times and attitudes have changed since the original (some of the change happened because of the movie).

You make a good point though: succesful remakes usually are dramas while action and comedy remakes are dumber than hell and try to hard to be contemporary.

I'm never in favor of remakes but escape from NY would be one exception if only and only that Carpenter would direct it and head the entire project. I would love Escape with a bigger budget and there's a alot of stuff that could be explored here. It would still kind of dissapoint in a way maybe because Donald Pleasence isn't with us anymore.

Heaven forbid a movie about The Hulk have substance. Honestly, I don't see why this movie is so hated. Aside from the giant dogs (which I happened to really dig) exploding in a ball of green gas, I didn't see anything wrong with it, and I just watched it the other day on T.V., so nothing is fuzzy.

Great movie.

I agree. That has the potential to be a freaking kickass action movie, but the thing is, in order to make a film with such a dodgy premise great, you have you have a quality director, and not one of Hollywoods more talented filmmakers would be attracted to something like that.

I often wonder what it would be like to pair a really serious, gritty, yet completely artsy filmmaker like, say, Daren Aronofsky, with a completely balls out, ludicrous action premise like Mean Guns. It would be something to see.

Realisticly, though, I could easily see John Mctiernan making a quality film, or perhaps Joe Carnahan?

The Creature from the Black Lagoon.
One of the only major monster movies to have yet to be remade. Dracula, Frankenstein, the Mummy, The Wolf Man all have or are having remakes.

A little 80's film called Radioactive Dreams would make an interesting remake. The original was a post-apocalyptic/comedy/drama/romance/film noir/action/musical/detective film about two young boys locked in a bomb shelter right before a nuclear holocaust with nothing to be entertained with but loads of pulp fiction and hard boild detective novels and clothes from the 40's and 50's. Several years later, they find a way out of the bomb shelter so they pack their bags and march out into the new world in hopes of becoming the greatest detective duo ever. A lot of this concept was used in Blast from the Past but I'd like to see it done using the full and very bizarre concept. What a movie that would make.

Also, there was this 70's Spanish horror film by the name of Tombs of the Blind Dead that could use an update with some better acting and special effects

and I third a Mean Guns remake

I've always felt that, if you're going to do a remake of a movie, why not remake something that was bad? What I mean is, improve upon a potentially great concept that was poorly executed originally. That way there's much more room for creative freedom and *gasp* originality.

I'm generally against remakes. I would like to see an updated "The Town That Dreaded Sundown", if only to have a frigging great title.
