I have a very very soft spot in my heart for these types of dramas when I am not getting my mind blown by Michael Bay action films. For obvious reasons interracial romances and relationships and the struggles they go through has always touched me....

my faves are...

Save the Last Dance (julia stiles and sean patrick thomas)
http://ia.imdb.com/media/imdb/01/I/40/56/80/10m.jpg

O (josh Hartnett, mekhi phifer, julia stiles, martin sheen)
http://ia.imdb.com/media/imdb/01/I/63/53/44m.jpg
this was a modern day hip hop style retelling of Othello. Mekhi is the star black athlete and only black kid in a southern all white prep school and josh hartnett is a bench player, his dad martin sheen is the head coach. Hartnett is jealous since Phifer is the star, has his dads love, and Phifer is dating the school hottie Julia Stiles. Hartnett sets it up so it looks like Stiles is cheating on Mekhi. Mekhi believes the lies and kills her.

Guess Whose Coming to Dinner (Sidney Poitier)
http://ia.imdb.com/media/imdb/01/I/57/55/12m.jpg

Jungle Fever (spike lee film with wesley snipes and sam jackson)
http://ia.imdb.com/media/imdb/01/I/82/57/15m.jpg

Pieces of April
http://ia.imdb.com/media/imdb/01/I/15/95/28m.jpg
( I LOVED this little film with derek luke and patricia clarkson and a breakout performance by Miss Cruise...umm I mean Katie Holmes)

Redemption
http://ia.imdb.com/media/imdb/01/I/87/34/26m.jpg
(dont know if any of you ever saw this small little 2003 indie by director Sean Reid and based off of his life. A deep and shocking drama. It starred a guy named Brian White and a white actress Tracey Stone. Its about a black guy who tries to become an actor in L.A. but drugs, drama, women, and back stabbing friends come between him and his dream...he ends up really messed up and the ending blows you away....

Love Field
http://ia.imdb.com/media/imdb/01/I/99/30/28m.jpg
...with Michelle Phieffer and Dennis Haysbert (the black guy from 24, the Allstate commercials, and he was in Heat as the getaway driver who quits his diner job). She is obsessed with Jackie Kennedy and wants to go to the JFK funeral but her abusive husband wont let her so she sneaks out and meets Haysbert and his daughter. They begin an affair and her husband finds out she is missing and gets the polcie to go after them.

Far From Heaven
http://ia.imdb.com/media/imdb/01/I/75/99/43m.jpg
Julianne Moore and Dennis Haysbert
-Julianne is married to Dennis Quaid and Haysbert is the gardener. They begin an affair behind Quaid's back, who has a secret of his own (he's gay). A good drama that shatters the cliche taboos of what appears to be the perfect little white 1950's neighborhood and how families that seem happy are never what they seem.

Wesley Snipes also has a steamy interracial relationship with a hot white woman in U.S. Marshalls, the sequel to The Fugitive with Tommy Lee Jones, Joe Pantoliano, and Robert Downey Jr.

so what are yours....

(yea a Bay fan DOES know good films and drama LOL)

by the way I kinda know a thing or two about this sorta stuff since I live it everyday with my girlfriend...

One NIght Stand
http://ia.imdb.com/media/imdb/01/I/70/65/06m.jpg
Wesley Snipes is married to an asian woman he cant stand and he flies to NY to visit his dying gay friend (Robert Downey Jr.) who is in the hospital with AIDS or HIV or something. While in NY he has a one night stand (hence the title of the film LOL) with a white woman played by Natasha Kinski (sp?). Eventually Natasha, her husband, and Snipes and his wife cross paths and by the end of the film they switch off and Snipes ends up with natasha and the asian wife falls in love with Natasha's husband. Good film. Downey gives a funny yet touching performance as the dying gay guy who gives Snipes advice on love.

Ringmaster
http://ia.imdb.com/media/imdb/01/I/32/48/06m.jpg
A silly and campy comedy about Jerry Springer during his height of the talk show fame circuit and the story follows a couple souther people and a black group of friends who are scheduled to be guests on the show and want to go on for fame but end up solving family issues and learn to get along. Not really a love story or a drama but the sex scene Jaime Pressly has with Michael Jai White (he played Spawn in the Spawn film) is HOTTT!!!!! She is soo damn sexy!

Bad Company
http://ia.imdb.com/media/imdb/01/I/61/70/26m.jpg

Laurence Fishburne has some steamy scenes with Ellen Barkin in this drama.

Jungle Fever, I didn't like it when I first saw it but I gave it another chance and it really hit home.

And if we're talking about homosexual interracial romances, those two guys on Six Feet Under take the cake.

Mr and Mr Loving-Timothy Hutton and Lala Rachon. They had perfect chemistry in that movie and it's a true story.

"O" Mekhi Phifer and Julia Stiles. Julia knows how to make it work with a black man on camera.

EDIT: I just realized that we were supposed to name our favorite interracial romance drama, not just our favorite romance. So My vote goes for Clerks 2 (comedy/drama).

Nice call. I wouldn't have thought of that one if you didn't mention it. But that is definitely a really good interracial romance, even if it is kind of more of a "friendship that could be a romance" deal.

But Guess Who's Coming to Dinner is still easily my favorite. It still hasn't dated any, and it's still relevant, which is probably a bad thing now that I think about it.

Laurence Fishburne has some steamy scenes with Ellen Barkin in this drama. That is one of the most underrated films of the last decade of so. Mr. Fishburne turns in one of his best performances (which is quite saying something) and several other actors, most notably the always great Ellen Barkin and the equally great Michael Beach, are terrific as well.

If you want to take it back and look for some older treatments of this theme, seek out Melvin Van Peebles' early effort The Story of a Three Day Pass and also a small film called One Potato, Two Potato, from '64.

So, this may sound stupid, but a white southern guy with a beautful, Italian woman would be considered interracial, yes yes?

That'd be bestiality, or to put it a nice way -- interspecies romance. Deep down they're the same race.

I like most scenes with Zoe Saldana. I coldn't find any stills.

I love Lucy Liu with white men, particularly in Slevin. Here's a still from one of her earlier films:
