I've always loved court room dramas, even though they are somewhat of an aquired taste. Obviously some of the films that have been based off of Grishams novels have been great but my personal favorite has to be A Few Good Men or Primal Fear. What's your favorite and why?

Does 12 Angry Men count?
But A Few Good Men is a great movie with a kickass ending. Would also like to throw in My Cousin Vinny for consideration too.

Does TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD count? I love that movie with a passion.

"You know, so much of the time we're lost.
We say, 'Please, God, tell us what is right. Tell us what's true. There is no justice. The rich win, the poor are powerless...' We become tired of hearing people lie. After a time we become dead. A little dead.
We start thinking of ourselves as victims. And we become victims. And we become weak...and doubt ourselves, and doubt our institutions...and doubt our beliefs...we say for example, `The law is a sham...there is no law...I was a fool for having believed there was.'
But today you are the law. You are the law...Not some book and not the lawyers, or the marble statues and the trappings of the court...all that they are is symbols. Of our desire to be just."

Liar, Liar!
No, I'm just kidding. 12 Angry Men, easily. Honourable mentions to A Few Good Men, Philadelphia, and JFK.

I pretty much agree with every movie I've seen listed here. JFK, Primal Fear, Runaway Jury, Rules of Engagement, A Few Good Men, A Time to Kill, ect.
But here is one I haven't seen mentioned:
Sleepers, it's a great movie with an amazing ensemble cast. Robert DeNiro, Dustin Hoffman, Brad Pitt, Jason Patric, Kevin Bacon, Minnie Driver, ect.
A great, underrated movie that I couldn't recommend more highly. One of 1996's best movies infact.

Ah yes, how could I forget that? It's actually one of my favourite movies. Thanks for mentioning it. It deserves a lot more credit, IMO.

Runaway Jury (tons of plot twists, quick pace, great acting, the sexy rachel weisz, intense showdown between G. Hackman and Dustin Hoff)
A Few Good Men (lots of cliche by the numbers plot stuff but great acting, awesome showdown at the end between Cruise and Nicholson, which spawned the catch phrase "You Can't Handle The Truth!")
Murder In The First (little film I never heard about until I became a big Gary Oldman fan about a year ago and started to research all his work. Rented it a few months ago and loved his performance as the sick warden guard who beats the inmates. Great history lesson about why they closed Alcatraz down, and an Oscar worthy performance from Kevin Bacon. Christian Slater did ok.)
A Time to Kill (not the best film in the world but Sandra Bullock for the first time, looked attractive to me, the story was emotional and heart breaking, and Sam L. Jackon was the MAN, as usual.)
Philadelphia (Tom Hanks was great as the AIDs suffering gay guy, although the story got a little mushy at times...but it was all saved by a great and 3 dimensional performance by my dad's fave actor Denzel Washington, the homophobic lawyer who puts his feelings about gays aside to defend a man who was fired unjustly.)
