Wrestling with the loss of his crew members, he throws himself into teaching, turning the program upside down with his unorthodox training methods. While there, he encounters an assured, young swim champ, Jake Fischer, who is driven to be the best. During training, Randall helps mold Jake's character, combining his raw talent with the heart and dedication required of a Rescue Swimmer. Upon graduation, Jake follows Randall to Kodiak, Alaska, where they face the inherent dangers of the Bering Sea. In his initial solo rescue, Jake learns firsthand from Randall, the true meaning of heroism and sacrifice, echoing the Swimmers' motto -- 'So Others May Live!'"

You couldn't pay me to see this movie. Far and away, this looks like one of the absolute worst films to be released in years. And it has the cast to match it. Seriously, whoever had the idea to team Kutcher and Kostner up is a genius. They're a match made in heaven.

I second that. The trailer makes me laugh hysterically every time I see it, and I suspect this isn't a comedy. It is a cliche checklist, as if that was the actual goal the entire time. Stoic veteran with troubled past? Got it. Cocky rookie? Yup. Rookie will learn true heroism from veteran? You betcha. Kutcher is probably my least favorite actor as well. Reason enough to stay away. This looks beyond lame.

Costner hasn't been bad in the last few movies he was in , but he is horrible at picking projects and this looks to be a dud. AK is a horrible actor , I can't watch that dude for 2 sec's without getting sick.

If i can get in for free i will take a peek at this one
But i have the feeling latest promos for this are lies.
Ashton probably acts like a jerkoff until the end of the flick when her or Costner have to be rescued.
Looks very predictable.

I have seen the trailer like 5 times now and it feels like I've seen the whole movie, this stinker looks like one big cliche. Who wants to bet Costner gets killed?

Understandable, but I actually think that it might be a fun, thoughtless movie to go watch. That's what I thought when I saw the preview...just a good old fashioned popcorn flick that you can unwind in.

Okay, i just saw The Gaurdian last night, on a scale from 1 to 10 i give it about 7.5. But i’m a big K.C fan.

I have to agree that A.K is almost certainly the worst actor, this guy was so unbelievably BAD.

I have one questing:

In the second bar scene (Kevin and Ashton) when Kevin fu*cked-up that Navy guys why the Navy commander (Admiral) stop the rest of the fleet from pouncing on Kevin and Ashton?

P.S i would have liked Ashton to have died instead of Kevin, you know young ass that thinks he is eveything
