Directed by Mike Clattenburg

Genre: Comedy

Plot Outline: Kicked out from jail days before the guard/inmate ball hockey final, Ricky, Julian and Bubbles return to Sunnyvale trailer park with a plan for The Big Dirty, the largest heist of their long criminal history: a dimwitted scheme to steal vast quantities of change – since it’s untraceable.Meanwhile, Ricky is pondering taking his relationship with longtime girlfriend Lucy to the next level when he discovers that Lucy has some newly enhanced anatomy and a job at the Gentleman’s Club. Later, visiting the club, Julian meets and falls for the beautiful featured dancer Wanda and the Boys have their first encounter with Sonny, the dangerous owner of the club.As the day of the Big Dirty approaches, The Boys train less-than-able assistants Cory and Trevor. But before their plan can succeed, they will have to outrun helicopters, survive shootouts and face down drunken Trailer Park Supervisor Mr. Lahey and his cheeseburger-loving assistant Randy in a deadly game of Sunnyvale Chicken.

Starring: Mike Smith, John Dunsworth, John Paul Tremblay, Robb Wells.

Runtime: 95 minutes

The rating in Canada is 18A. And it won't be released in the US on the same date, because it is a Canada based show. But expect it to be rated R for strong language, pervasive drug content and sexual content.

The plot may seem crazy and it is. This show and movie, filmed in Halifax, Nova Scotia, is absolutely hilarious. It is very popular in Canada and if you live near Halifax (which I do), you may see the main characters around in public. They came to my school the other day for a drama seminar.

If this movie hits theatres near your area, go see it. Don't hesitate.

I saw it last night and this movie fucking rocked, captured all the best elements of the show and was an awsome ride from start to finish. Ricky is always awsome but he really turns it on in this movie and shines above the rest! The court scene at the end was hilarious as Fuck and Ricky wanting to go back to jail!! Priceless!!

Give this a big bump, it's only been out for 3 days, where's all my Canadian schmoes.....?

This movie rocked and I think more people need to see it, After i saw it on friday night I started thinking that this movie could become Canada's highest grossing film (beeting Porky's) because the theatre i went too had it in 2 screens and sold out for almost all 4 shows Friday night! But i am suprised that I am the only person here who has seen it and liked it enough to come and give it some good word of mouth.

"Do you know what a shit rope is Julian? it's a rope covered in shit that criminals try to cling to. You see, the shit acts like grease, and the harder you tighten your grip, the more you slide down it".

from IMDB:

Canada's No. 1 Film Is 'Trailer Park Boys'

The Canadian box office, which usually mirrors the American, saw Trailer Park Boys: The Movie take the lead over The Departed with $1.3 million from about 200 screens in that country. Distributed by Canada's Alliance Atlantis and executive produced by Ivan Reitman, the movie is based on a popular Canadian comedy TV series, now in its sixth season, about a gang of dimwit thieves. In the film, they conspire to steal a large amount of change, figuring that it can't easily be traced. Toronto Globe & Mail TV columnist John Doyle remarked today (Tuesday), "The thing is, the very existence of the Trailer Park Boys movie is vitally important as a cultural event. ... It's an anti-bourgeois soap opera, a cheerful and loving celebration of life at the bottom. In this country we embrace those at the bottom of the social ladder. It's that embrace that makes us who we are."

It is a lot like the TV show, and is pretty much just an hour and a half version of the TV show, but it is still very funny and entertaining. The whole crew is rockin' and at the top of their game. Bubbles is hilarious as always and Ricky drops more F-bombs than Billy Bob in Bad Santa.

If this is playing in your area, I'd recommend giving it a view. It is very funny. Mabye not quite as good as the TV show but still very funny.
