Seeing as I am a Bay fan it is only right I/you/we pay homage to the greatness that is Bay's strength as an action director, and that is his unparelleled excellence at carnage and speed and intensity when it comes to filming hectic and fun kick ass car chases with the phattest most exotic cars on the damn planet!

Well I have always been a Bullitt and French Connection fan, so those are the two best IMO with the Connection being the best.

Ronin and Bullitt are the answers that always come to mind when I see this question.

I only saw The Seven Ups for the first time a few weeks ago and that chase is a thumper :cool:

No one's mentioned the epic one that closes The Road Warrior.

Anyway, I've always liked the one from The French Connection because the cars are so shitty and can barely hold up yet it's still really cool.

I'm not quite sure which Eastwood movie it is, I think it was Magnum Force, that had a really badass car chase at the end.

Since I am a big fan of the exciting car chases in low budget movies my choice would be:

EPICENTER

Traci Lords in a disaster/crime drama flick with the very good car chase in SF. Almost as good as the one in THE ROCK.
And some F/X are good. Plus Jeff Fahey. And nudity (no, not by Traci

I absolutely agree with these two. The lack of soundtrack and fancy special effects definitely makes these more exciting and realistic. IN the French Connection, when he narrowly misses the woman w/ the baby carriage...I cringe every time! I actually didnt care much for the French Connection as a movie, but the chase scene was fantastic.

And Bullitt is just great, of course.

Bullitt - very few others come close. I think the greatest "recent" car chase is Ronin. I thought that one was pretty freakin' cool and realistic.

T-2 chases were great. T-3 chase was good too.

I don't know if any of you have seen this one but Jackie Chan's Who Am I? had a very good chase scene! At one point he manages to get the car on its side and spins it in a circle to get it back on its wheels! The car was a Mitsubishi EVO IV or V

Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry. The ending was a total surprise to me! They also used that ending on the intro of that tv show "The Fall Guy" with Lee Majors.

Not only did the Bourne Supremacy feature the best car sequence I've ever seen, but it was a fitting climax to a fantastic film (putting a new spin on the inevitable good guy vs. bad guy showdown). I feel the fact that the overall film was so good up's the car sequence though.
