Mine is when Alex is killing that cat lady with the china penis.

The half-speed sequence when Alex and the Droogs are walking along the waterfront. Georgie the General and Dim, His Mindless Grinning Bulldog think they've effected reforms in the gang. Alex hears lovely music coming from an open window and viddies what he has to do...

After Dim finishes his stupid laughing jag and Alex walks up to Dim and steps over his legs and just plops right down in Dim's lap, kind of trapping him. That smile Alex gives Dim before he asks him what the hell he thinks he's laughing at is perfect.

BTW, Malcolm MacDowell is everything Ewan McGregor WISHES he was.

The scene in the jail where he hands over his personal belongings put a smile on my face.

When Alex returns home and meets Joe the Lodger who calmly chows down on toast. I also love the tracking shot of Alex whistling and walking home after a night of ultraviolence.

My fucking favorite part has always been when Alex is walking home whistling the theme of the movie. That part is the definition of great cinema. It gives me chills.

"...and what will you DO with the Big, Big Money?"

Subtle menace at it's finest.

Are you on drugs?

All credit to young Mr McDowell for his excellent performance in A Clockwork Orange...Don't get me wrong!

But seriously, the Man has done a huge huge amount of shite! He has been utterly terrible in far too many Films for my liking!

Now McGregor has many top-notch performances to his credit!

*Shallow Grave
*Trainspotting
*Brassed off
*Little Voice
*Moulin Rouge!
*Nora

Give the lad his due...He's definately not a wannabe I'm afraid!

The moment they enter the writer's house with their masks on.The writer is on a lower level in his living room and stands up, Alex kicks him in the face with his horrorshow boots. I jumped up out of my seat! All the giggling, singing, Dim's echoing voice, the rape, it was a total mind-fuck!
Viddy well, oh my brother, viddy well!

Yeah, I tend to agree w/ BCV, at least to Ewan's merits.. One of thee things I like about him is that he reminds me a lot of Malcolm, in all his brilliant audacity. McDowell also did great work like O Lucky Man, If..., Cat People and his underrated performance in Star Trek: Generations ("...and you've come to dissuede me from my horrific plan...good luck.") He's like Klaus Kinski, one of those guys who will be in any film if you give him a check. This dilliutes his impact, but not his greatness.

To the list of McGregor performances of note, I'd add Velvet Goldmine, The Pillow Book (which I really liked, and not just because of Vivian Wu...) and the odd but ultimately interesting Eye of the Beholder.

I just thought of a couple more.

-When the droogs make their surprise visit to the writers house and the wife opens the door. Alex does a slow turn around wearing his mask. It just freaks me out. Plus the shot looks great with the mirror and 1the checkered floors.

-The entire scene with Alex eating the spaghetti. Great acting, direction, cinematography and lighting. It cracks me up how Frank (the writer) just glares at Alex the entire time.

GREAT FRIGGIN MOVIE!!!!!!!

My favorite is the "Singin' in the Rain" rape scene in the first half of the movie.

And then later when Alex is singing the same song in the tub, they show the shocked look on the old man's face. Unbelievable.

Another great scene is the torture scene in the theater. Infact, every goddamn scene is brilliant.

I didn't want to mention The Pillow Book and Velvet Goldmine as I thought I'd get a severe mocking...

Ahhhh Velvet Goldmine...The root of all my sordid celeb fantasies!

Wow,where should i start? The opening sequence of Alex's face just staring into us is great,i used to get the chills from it...still do here and there....the night of ultraviolence in which he rapes Ms. Alexander and beats on Frank Alexander still scares the shit out of me,because we all know shit like this very well happens...and the china penis part is amusing but at the same time insanely messed up.I can easily say i enjoyed all of the moments of this movie, its a classic.....and the soundtrack is unbelieveable might i add....

No mocking from me. I love both of those films. Actually I hesitated mentiononing Eye of the Beholder, for the same reason.

A "Ewan and Ewan's penis" anecdote. When I was going to see The Phantom Menace with a friend of mine, we were talking about the casting. My friend is a huge Star Wars fan, but wasn't too familiar w/ Ewan's work. As an aside, I said, "Well, he probably won't be showing his crank in this film"
After he had me elaborate (and tell him about The Pillow Book, Trainspotting and Velvet Goldmine), he said "Well...", indicating that I should give him a report. I told him that while Mr. McGregor wasn't going to make anyone forget John Holmes, he was a very healthy young Scot. My friend thought about it for a few seconds, and then said "That's good. Obi-Wan Kenobi should be well-equipped."

Its gotta be when they burst in on that writer and his wife. It gets me every time. When she says "we don't usually let strangers in in the middle of the night...". It's like Lou Reed says, "No good deed goes unpunished" :)

And Dim singing back odd bits of lines to Alex "Feeling...at clouds....in the rain" which is just so funny. Until alex has snipped that red pajama suit off her then Dim finally manages to get out a coherent phrase, "Get ready for love" which he keeps singing over and over in that moronic voice with that kid in a sweetshop grin. It's that final "Get ready for love" that gets me, grinning like a moron and kissing her ass while Alex shows off his panhandle to the writer. Classic

The very first shot of the film where we see Alex staring straight at the camera while he was in the Korova Milk Bar with his droogs. That shot got me hooked and promises more to come and I wasn't disappointed.
