Our very own JoBlo.com network community section entitled MYJOBLO.COM has now officially launched, so we wanted to open a general thread in which everyone could post the BUGS they find in the system (it's still in BETA mode, so we need to work out some kinks), we well as any unanswered questions you may have about how it all works, etc...

Even though this is still MyJoBlo.com 1.0 at this point, and we're sure to improve on it later on, we don't mind hearing suggestions on what else you'd like to see added to it, although to be honest, we'd rather everyone concentrate on making this first round as solid as possible (let's not count our chickens before my cock hatches-- whatever that means).

NOTHING will change on these forums, as you'll still be able to post like before, but you will all now have an ADDITIONAL component to our forums, which will hopefully allow many of you to get to know each other better, as MOVIE FANS and PEOPLE. Note the *new* red buttons at the top of the forums and right below each of your posts called MYJOBLO.COM PROFILE.

The same rules from our board obviously still apply, in that all DISRESPECT among members will get you BANNED from our site, you need to be over 15 years of age to join, etc..., but now, you will all have cool extras to play around with as well, including (but not restricted to):

Your own REVIEWS
Your own BLOGS, daily MOVIE JOURNALS
Your own IMAGES to upload, videos to upload
Your own FRIENDS page
Your own FAVORITE LISTS section
Your own DVD COLLECTIONs...

And more, of course.

Okay, that's it for now. Please remember to read our new FAQ section (http://www.joblo.com/forums/whatismyjoblo.php) first, before posting any questions of your own in here.

I added another member (zombievicim) as a friend. When I went to check my friends, he was listed twice. I deleted one of him and somehow both of them disappeared. Now, when I try him to send him another friend request...it says that I have already sent one.

Is there a way to fix this, so that we can be friends again?

Yeah, when I upload images, I had two of the same image, and I uploaded two different ones. Also, can you like rig it that you can input a link to your dvd collection? because all this manual stuff gets boring.

on main profile page after clicking on the "more" button for friends it expands to the friends section. click on "more" again and it links to a 0 post profile for "Tweety"

My sign, Sagittarius, is spelled with 2 g's instead of one. (Minor, I know... It just looks funny). I also don't know how to change the order of my 'Top Friends'. And when you click on the 'New, myJoBlo.com' button, you have to click around to access your profile. There's not a direct link unless I'm completely blind.

I'm loving it though! Very cool.

I think you need to make it so that there's easier access to the profile. I mean I'm probably just retarded, but if I click the 'myjoblo.com' button i cant get to my profile. I can only get to my profile after seeing someone else's, then clicking on the little links that appear. WHAT UP WITH THAT.

also personally i'm terrified that i now know what y'all look like.

Kudos on the effort, it's really a wonderful fruit of creation.

My complaint may be trivial compared to the other bugs in this thread, but it does slightly bother me that in the "favourite movie of all time" option, the character limitation is too small, and I can't spell out the full name of "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" - it simply stops letting me write when I get to the "o" in "Spotless". Not that it's so serious that I can't write just a fraction of the name, but I don't think I'm the only one here whose favourite movie has a somewhat long name. Maybe that can be tweaked, thanks.

In addition, the movie title selection in the Movie Reviews section is a tedious affair. Alright, so by pressing the first letter in the film's name you're taken to its proximity, but you still need to scroll through quite a list in order to find the specific title. Perhaps some sort of search engine would improve convenience.

Another two tidbits:

First of all, in the MSN Messenger field, I constantly write out my full address (wolven_fang@hotmail.com), and yet despite how many times I "save updates", it never shows the ".com" part on the sidebar.

Secondly, a question: How do I get an image to appear as my profile image?

Regarding the DVDs: I couldn't help but notice that there are many, many titles missing. I wonder if this is a constantly fed database, or if these need to be input manually. Either way, there are quite a few prominent titles missing. Also, it's somewhat unorganized - Fellowship can be found under "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring" but ROTK can be found under "Return of the King", sans the "Lord of the Rings" title. Somewhat confusing.

Can we get the DVDs as list so you can ctrl select as many titles as you want? I have over a thousand dvds and for me to select each, than go back find the next, and so on is prohibitive.

Not to be a demanding asshole or anything, but there probably should be a way to post video's and pictures directly on your front page without having to click on any links... kind of how myspace does it, but maybe limit the amount of photo's and video's one is allowed to have.

Since it's based on a database of titles, this wouldn't work as every other person would likely type the title of a film in differently and it wouldn't coincide with our Amazon links or your movie reviews (they have to be the EXACT same title, written the same way, etc...)

We PURPOSELY did it like that. I personally don't care for the MYSPACE pages AT ALL, and find them to be very crowded, complicated to figure out and generally, just annoying to use. We went out of our way to make sure that our community was a little more "ordered"... :) (at least for now...we intend to GROW this puppy over time, so we'll see).

A general response to everyone in this thread:

THANKS A LOT for all of your bugs and notes, guys and girls. As you might've already noticed, we are trying to "clean up" all of the bugs as we go, and most of the stuff mentioned in this thread so far, has already been fixed (sometimes you just need to redo something, in order for it to be fixed, example: Sagittarius is now spelled correctly, but you have to EDIT YOUR PROFILE again for it to appear correctly).

As for the DVD and MOVIE REVIEW databases of movie titles, we are STILL in the process of entering new titles daily, and will likely continue to do so for another week or so, so please be patient in that respect...we hope to have most titles in there at some point.

If your problem STILL hasn't been resolved, that means that either we didn't fully understand your problem (so please re-post and explain it better) or it's not something we can fix.

Keep letting us know about any errors/bugs that you spot though, as we're almost done fixing everything. So far, so pretty fuckin' good...

Makes perfect sense...

I understand... i just like the idea of placing pictures and youtube clips on the front page for easy access. Everything else is perfect.

Just in case my unfixed bug was misunderstood. I sent a friend a request and somehow later accidentally deleted him from my friends list. When I try to re-add him I get this message...

Whenever I go to the DVD section, I always have to hit the "Switch to Cover Display" - as I prefer the DVD cover pictures over just the titles list. It's every time. Is there a way you could get it to keep it that way every time until the user switches it back?

I was having the same problem. But when you click your 'myjoblo' button there is a little section where it says 'home' 'usercp' By that section there is a bit that will say "Logged in as:The Heart Collector" Just click on that and it will take you to your home page.

This is a suggestion:

In the blog section, you have a box showing how many "Total views" the section has. Maybe you could include a similar stat box for the Reviews section, if possible for each review (though I realize that might be somewhat of a pain in the ass to accomodate). Just because I'm curious if people are actually reading these reviews.

Same here - though it's an error page for me, saying it "can't find the server." This has happened a lot for me; eventually I'm able to get it so I put my review in then, but it happens a lot.

The colored ball I think means you're online (Green) or you're offline (Not Green)

That was my next question.

Adding your own reviews on your blog is the coolest feature of MYJOBLO, so if you're unable to do so, then what's the point... :( If any programmer in charge of the site sees this, please help. Thanks a lot.

I'm getting a real goofy error. The forums recognize me as being logged in, but the main page (more specifically the "strike back" section) doesn't. Cookies are enabled, and I tested it on both Firefox and Internet Explorer, but, well, nothing. It's quite confuzzling.

Ditto all of the above :( and the same thing that happens with the reviews happens with the DVD list and now everytime I click on one of my pictures it goes to a database error

I've been having a difficult time changing my default picture on MyJoblo profile. Every time I click on "Make Default" for the picture I want, it simply doesn't work. Anybody else having the same problem?

This is happening to me also. I'm logged in on the forums, but the "strike back" section doesn't recognize me as logged in. Also, whenever I try to add/edit a movie review, I get an error message saying that "either my account has been deactivated, or is awaiting activation"...I, too, am very confused.

I love that the horror section is back to red and black - thanks! Just one tiny "problem" - more like a minor irritant.

The words that are linked for the advertizing pop-ups, such as "movie" and "DVD," are in green. Which is fine on the rest of the board. In the horror section, the green words against the red background makes them awfully hard to read and a bit of an eye-sore.

Would you please change the link color for the ads to a more legible color for the red backgroud that will, of course, look good on the rest of the boards as well?

I started having problems adding DVDs. Two or three nights ago, no problems (AWESOME the way you can do 3 at a time, BTW...) but then it stopped working. On Mozilla Firefox it takes me to a blank screen, and on Internet Explorer it takes me to a "page cannot be displayed" page. This is with adding DVDs and to the wishlist as well. If I'm remembering correctly, at first it was just the main DVD list, and the wishlist was fine. Now both the wishlist and main DVD list won't let me add anything. Too bad because I took some pictures phone images to bring with to work so I'd be able to remember all my DVDs this time. :D

We have recently been working on improving the process of adding new dvds to your collection. You can now add any number of dvds at one time by holding the CTRL key and clicking on the titles in the list. You can then select ratings for each of them on the "Edit DVDs" page.

We have recently been working on improving the process of adding new dvds to your collection. You can now add any number of dvds at one time by holding the CTRL key and clicking on the titles in the list. You can then select ratings for each of them on the "Edit DVDs" page.

VERY NICE! It was worth the wait. Thank you. This was my initial peeve with the DVD listing, and now - voila! We have a coolness factor of .99!

About that .01... Is there anyway it can be made so that if you accidentally select a DVD you already have in your list, it doesn't give you an error? It's not necessary, but would be helpful.

Now that I've found myself with some extra time (love night shifts!!) I've been enjoying the hell out of the myjoblo section --- Aside from obvious differences, it's a cool movie-themed alternative to myspace (which has different benefits)

I love the idea of the new Community Lists here on myjoblo.com but there is no consistency for the titles of movies so not all the points are going to the same flick.

For example, in the 'Animated' category there is "The Lion King" at #1 and "Lion King" at #19. In the "Stoner" category, there is "Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle" at #4 and "harold and kumar" at #17.

These lists should be taken from a selectable database to ensure accuracy. It's a nerdy problem, I admit. But, if you are going to have charts and stats, you might as well have them be accurate! :)

So, I was trying to adjust my friends list and I got to the point where I THOUGHT it would readjust it.
THEN I look to the bottom of the screen where it says "DELETE FRIENDS".

What in the hell is that little button doing down there?

Needless to say, I am a world class putz and I sent "re-add ons" to everyone, but for Rusty's sake, how the hell do you arrange the friends around on your list?

By the way, it says I have -12 friends.

I have a royal problem and I'm hoping there's a simple solution. Okay, everytime I pee it burns. Wait. Wrong forums.

I can't edit myjoblo blog. Here's what happens every time -

I'll write the blog, then hit submit (or whatever) - it will say "no subject" even though I have something in the title field.

So I hit "back" which takes me back to the posting page. I'll hit submit again. Then it posts the bulleting, but now the formating looks strange, and there's html code for line breaks added on the blog.

Then when I try to edit anything from there, it says I don't have access to that privilege.

It's be great, cause I really um benefit from the edit functions. Plus I can't figure out why it's adding line break codes in there. I'm not sure if anyone else has had this problem specifically - don't remember seeing it.

is now redundant. Instead, use
standard_error(fetch_error(...))

I think that print standard thing happens anytime you try to enter information that's already there. I get it consistently when I enter DVDs I've already entered. Maybe check to see if you're uploading things with the same file names?

I noticed that too - assumed it was just a non-active function.

This blog thing is really aggrevating, becuase I'd never been interested in doing a blog, and started recently over at myspace, and here, but again - formatting all messed up and when I edit, I get this message

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

i have a couple questions about the DVD list. Is there anyway that once we added a dvd to our list it could be removed from the main list? because i can't always remember everything i added and then i end up adding the same thing, get an error, then have to start again.

And also, will more titles be added to the list? and how will we know which ones and when? because it takes a really long time to scroll thru that whole thing everytime. And there are a bunch of dvd's i have that aren't on there.

You don't have to scroll through the whole list every time . . . just click on the list, hit the letter (or number I guess) that the movie title begins with and it'll jump to that letter - if you hold down the letter, it'll scroll through them quickly.

A lot of the films in the DVD collection list are yeared wrong. Like, it says that Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory was made in the 2000's when really it was made in the 70's. Also, Even Cowgirls Get The Blues was made in the 90's and it says in the DVD collection that it was made in 2004.

Thought you should know a lot of the dates on a lot of the films are wrong :)

When you want to submit a new thread with a poll, write whatever you want in the subject, and the body... then instead of clicking 'submit thread' scroll down to the bottom of the 'Additional options' and check the "Yes, post a poll with this thread" and enter the number of poll options you want. Then select 'submit new thread'.. It's not going to post your thread yet, it will take you to your poll and you can preview it before you post it! Hope this helps! When I create a thread I don't have that post a poll option. That's what I find weird.

I don't know if anyone else has been having this problem but for weeks now I have not been able to upload new profile pics. I have plenty of space and I even deleted several of my old pics but still nothing shows up. I never had problems before. Anyone know what's going on? Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

2 little problems, and forgive me if I havn't read the directions well enough, I looked around the FAQ's and Forum Stickies but couldn't find an exact answer:

1) I uploaded both a profile pic and an avatar (Both are the same image) and while my avatar appears here on the forums, My profile pic doesn't appear on the myjoblo page nor when I put comments under the news section of the main joblo page.

2) I want to change my name as it's actually a typo. Is there anyway possible to change it?
