Well done Paramount once again your marketing skills are second to none. Advertising a Collectors Edition only for it to contain three crummy ten minute featurettes. Another pathetic release from a company who have failed to give any of their classic films the treatment they so deserve.

You have to hand it to the bastards at Paramount, considering their track record with the genre of horror. These are the same loads that decided that they no longer wanted to be associated with the Friday the 13th franchise, which as we all know was picked up by New Line. Funny, Paramount sure didn’t mind raking in the cash from said franchise when it was a hot commodity-cash windfall at the box office…hypocrites!

They seem to treat the catalog of horror films that they hold the exclusive rights to as “Bastard” step children. Lets look at their DVD releases of such films as ‘My Bloody Valentine’ (1981) with it’s SRP of $24.95. Not one trailer, not one extra of any kind. They did the same thing with 'Bug' (1975). I recently purchased ‘Lets Scare Jessica to Death’ (1971) for around $ 9.99 at Best Buy, the SRP was about $14.99. Once again, no extras, no trailer, nada-zip-zilch-zero!

Barebones is what you get for your dollar, they have no respect for these films, but they continue to profit by any means necessary. Yet companies like Synapse, Anchor Bay, Dark Sky and other smaller companies seem to devote so much time and effort with each release. These are the companies that have a respect for the genre and go out of their way in giving the horror fans more bang for the buck---as it should be!

So, I hear you halo---I hear you old friend.

BTW- Lets not call the studio Paramount---
from now on its Parrot-crap LOL! ;) :D

Lol! I agree with you. Anchor Bay have set the gold standard as far as i'm concerned, their attention to detail, particularly the artwork, is remarkable.

I hope Parashite continue to sell the rights to their back catalogue so companies such as Anchor Bay can give us what we want.

PARASHITE---I love it!!! LOL!!!:D

I agree that Anchor Bay is a terriffic company...and yes It would be in the best interest of us all if "parashite" sold the catalog to Anchor Bay or any of the other companies I mentioned.

Have a great weekend---hope to see more of your comments on the boards---it's always a good time when we get together here. ;)

I'm so glad that I didn't double-dip on Pet Semetary now. My regular edition (which I got for 4.99 at Wal-Mart) is serving me quite well at the moment.

I listened to the commentary track last night. For gods sake Mary Lambert hasn't got a clue, rather than talk about things like production design and how they did this and that she fawns over her own movie, calling it a "classic". How big is this womans ego!?!

What a waste of effort, I wish Paramount would just piss off and hand over the rights to their entire horror collection to Anchor Bay, a company that takes enormous pride in what they do.

Wal-Mart is currently doing a special sale on Paramount horror DVDs for Halloween. You can buy several different titles, including My Bloody Valentine and April Fool's Day for the low, low price of $4.88.

P.S To add insult to injury she never talks about the actor who played Zelda, a character just as important as Gage. She mentions auditioning young girls for the part but none of them were skinny enough.

Thanks TDK!

Wow, "paradung" titles for less money works for me. I already have MBV, what I would like is AFD added to my growing collection of horror DVD's.

Par-Amount-To-Nothing can go choke on a bag of dicks. As long as they continue to give the kind of horror releases that they have continued to dish out I vow NOT to support them. They give you none of the special features for all of the money. No thanks.

Fuck you Sub-Paramount!

Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

Well, there could have been a lot more to it, but it is better than the old bare bones edition..
