He was freaking amazing in The Departed.
(I want to see his entire filmography now)

Due to his evolution of talent, I greatly admire him. And from what I have heard, he's been regarded as a nice if quiet guy.
Yeah. I dig him.

Great actor. Good guy. You just knew he was going to be a star after his performance in What's eating Gilbert Grape. Rumors abound of him being a really down to earth guy.

I echo this completely. He's grown FAR beyond his role as a teen heartthrob that everyone and their fathers (no females, conspicuously :p) seemed to hate circa Titanic.
And hell, I'll go ahead and say it - Titanic was a damn good flick.

Hopefully he picks up on Oscar nom for his performance in The Departed, because he was quite good in it.

Titanic wasn't a damn good flick. It was damn GREAT flick.
Never understood the backlash it recieved. Everyone loved it when it first came out but in recent years it's taken it's share of beatings.
Dicaprio is a terrific talent. His performance in Martin Scorsese's The Aviator is absolutely amazing. He should have won the oscar over the good but overrated Jaime Foxx (well, actually Paul Giamatti should have won but he wasn't even nominated).
He also did an excellent job playing twin brothers, one good and one evil, in the underrated The Man in the Iron Mask.
He's superb in Catch Me If You Can as well.
And yes, he's VERY solid in The Departed as well.
As far as I'm concerned, his only misfire is The Beach.
And I can't wait for Blood Diamond! Looks friggin' GREAT!
Big YAY!

LOVE that movie.

I was going to see it because my favorite actress and the woman of my dreams is in it (Jennifer Connelly) but after watching the departed, i have a second reason!

A big YAY from me.
I was a HUGE fan of his back when he did 'This Boy's Life' and 'What's Eating Gilbert Grape?', I thought he was his generation's Brando, Newman, Dean, etc. and have held that opinion for more than a little while....
....but then came Romeo & Juliet, The Quick and the Dead, Titanic, The Man in the Iron Mask, & The Beach. Most of those are actually good movies, but none of them gave Dicaprio roles of much substance, certainly not like the roles he got when he was younger anyways. After a series of forgettable to bad (Total Eclipse, for instance.... horribly overacted) performances, I just stopped caring, and the whole 'teen heartthrob' hype surrounding the guy simply made me become more and more sick of him.
But then came Catch Me If You Can (he deserved an Oscar nod for that) and the great Martin Scorsese, who drew forth memorable performances from him in quality films like Gangs of NY (he held his own opposite acting dynamite Daniel Day-Lewis), The Aviator, and most recently The Departed, all of which demonstrated his immense maturity as an actor since his Titanic days. After so many terrific turns this decade, I just naturally warmed up to him again.
YAY!

Leo has quite a few good movies under his belt. Departed was excellent. Gangs of NY, The Beach, Aviator, all good. Even that Romeo and Juliet he did was kinda cool, the whole modern thing.

I think he is one of the greatest and most interesting actors of his generation. His career has definitely gone through some odd stages, first being almost this acting prodigy and then to Titanic (which he gave a very good performace in), which turned him into the "teen heartthrob." I don't think he really recovered until Catch Me If You Can, which was a wondeful perfomance that in a way plays on his image of the pretty boy and uses it as ammunition for his execution of Frak Abignale, the innocent-looking charmer con-artist. To me, he achieved utter perfection in The Aviator. One of my favourite performances ever. He was ROBBED of an oscar, just as Scorsese was.
The Departed kicked ass too, and it would be cool if he got some awards attention for it, but still, it was no The Aviator.
I have no idea what to make of the Blood Diamond though. What is up with the accent???

Love Leo. I haven't seen many movies where I don't think he excels.

He is becoming one of my favorite actors and it looks like his career will continue to flourish with all of his upcoming projects.
