Hopefull this hasn't been posted before but I was wondering what some of your guys favorite dvd commentaries are? I haven't listened to that many but my favorite that I've listened to would have to PTA's commentary on boogie nights. You could also put your least favoirte commentary. Mine would have to be alexander payne's on election.

What do you guys think?

John Carpenter and Kurt Russel with The Thing. Almost no dead air, it's enjoyable to listen to, and of course lots of feedback and info

Paul Giamatti and Thomas Hayden Church on Sideways is absolutely hilarious.

By far the funniest is Cannibal!: The Musical. Trey Parker and friends just get wasted during it. By the end they're just randomly cursing other cast members.

Also, This is Spinal Tap had a classic one.

Exactly what I came here to say. The in-character commentary on that DVD is almost as good as the movie itself.

I've only listened to a few, and actually, PT Anderson's commentary on Boogie Nights annoyed me. To me, he sounded really arrogant. Maybe that's just how I heard him though.

Any of Ebert's commentaries are well worth listening to, especially the one on Citizen Kane. It really opens up your eyes (or is that ears?) to the subtle details that make the movie so great.

Amen to that.

I also liked any of the commentarys by Kevin Smith and the Farrelly Brothers.

Another nod would go to Brad Pitt and Matt Damon no Ocean's Eleven. They sounded like they were having a good time and were enjoying what they were doing.

To me Kevin Smith has some funny commentaries, and one awful one. His revisit wih Clerks X was one of the shittiest commentaries i've ever heard. He filmed it and about twenty minutes in a dude comes in with food and all we fucking hear for the next half hour is the discusting sound of the fuckers eating. No one talks, just fucking chowin down. Grab a meal before the mic hits your mouth. idiot.

ebert has some wonderful ones, along with Citizen Cane theres Crumb and Dark City, both rock.

Now that I think about it, that's the only one I haven't listened to. I played the one on the first release of Clerks but never bothered with the Clerks X one. I'm gonna have to give it a listen now to check it out.

Orgazmo's just as good! They also do commentary for the deleted scenes... after they recorded the movie commentary, so they were even drunker.

I forget which movie, I think Cannibal, but they go on a beer run right in the middle of the movie. Hilarious.

Has anyone listened to the Bogdanovich commentary for Citizen Kane? Any good?

If you haven't read his book on the same film than it's not bad. The reason I say this is that Bogdanovich reads from the book and I read the book which made it super boring.

Here's some favorities of mine

Evil Dead Bruce Campbell
The Thing John Carpenter and Kurt Russell
Camron Crowe Almost Famous
Fight Club David Fincher Brad Pitt Edward Norton
