Hello fellow horror-loving schmoes!

I would like to ask you a few questions concerning the Child's Play franchise on DVD. I've been a pretty big fan of the original and it's sequels (even though some claim they're awful) throughout my movie-addicted lifetime.

My Child's Play VHS is on it's last legs and I feel that it's finally time to stop waiting for a SE of the original and just buy it and the "Chucky The Killer Collection" or the older collection of Chucky films (with Seed Of Chucky seperately as well).

Now, I've done my fair share of research on both of these collections. It appears that while the new set is a bit cheaper it lacks some special features found on the older set, as well as chapter selection.

Plus, the Seed Of Chucky found on the new set is the much tamer R-rated version, rather than the Unrated version.

Now, here is where your minds come in handy. Are the few missing features on the new set (2 text pieces, Bride of Chucky Trailer, Chapter selection) worth the much lower price?

Also, I have yet to see Seed Of Chucky and would like to know how the Unrated version compares to the Rated one.

Thanks for all of your help, Schmoes!

I bought the Killer Franchise Collection only because it was twenty bucks. The chapter selection thing isn't a huge deal to me (I can still skip chapters while watching the movie, so I'm good), but there are a couple of extras lacking. In fact, most of the extras on the Seed of Chucky DVD are the worst ones on that disc. Also, the discs are flipper discs...be warned.

If you're looking to go the cheap way and get parts 2 through Seed for cheap, the Franchise Collection is good, but if you want to get everything (but for about 15 bucks more) buy the first boxset and then get the unrated Seed of Chucky. There is no diffrence in them as far as I know, but you do get more special features.

I bought the older boxed set and the single release of Seed of Chucky Unrated, its of course not a HUGE difference, but a couple more minutes of gore is always a lot in these types of movies, plus if you have a good surround system, the Unrated Seed of Chucky has DTS surround as the one in the new boxed set does not

I'm still waiting on the original because I refuse to pay $15 hell even $5 for Child's Play in full screen with mono sound and no extra features, MGM needs to get their asses moving on getting this out....dont know what the hell they are waiting on
