Luke from Cool Hand Luke - didn't like his character much, and didn't find him inspiring as the film seems to want to make him.

I misread the list, I thought Obi-Wan was up against Dirty Harry. If I had realised it wasn't before, Indy would've been my choice for the win. So I'm happy. :D
As for the villain section... everybody's entitled to their own opinions I guess....

I am very pleased with the outcome as well. Indy is a fantastic hero and Darth is the greatest villain amongst us fanboys. This thread, along with the favorite non-porno thread, shows just how much we all love Kubrick.

I am glad so many of you are so happy with the results. I know I am too. I must say that we really had some excellent finalists though. You all have great taste. :D
I am so happy Indy won. Harrison Ford is my favorite actor and I love his heroes in such movies as Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Blade Runner, Witness, Air Force One, and even Six Days Seven Nights. There is just something about him I love. No matter how old he gets, I think he will always be a both a great actor and a great sex symbol.
I really like Darth Vader as a villain too. I thought James Earl Jones' voice acting and David Prowse's physical acting really contributed greatly to the making of such a classic trilogy. Although, ever since I met David Prowse a few years ago, I have a hard time looking at Darth Vader quite the same again. He is indeed a very tall guy but what struck me was what a total flirt he was. I found that very amusing. Nothing quite like getting hit upon by Darth Vader. LOL hehe  ;)

Indiana Jones is a great choice. Exactly who I was hoping would make it. Darth Vader...Not so much. Guess he seemd alot more imposing before the prequels though. Even without those though, Return Of The Jedi revealed he wasnt' even the guy pulling the shots anyway (Emperor bossed him around like a little jedi bitch). Kind of dull anyway to. Not realy a smart villian, More like a giant brute then a truely evil mastermind like Alex De Large, Hannibal Lector, Or even Goldfinger...
I'll just be a dick and blame the villian outcome on "star wars nerds".

Yes, it is true. I am a big Star Wars (mostly original trilogy) fan at least (not sure about nerd though) so I had to pick Darth.
However, as I told my new friend JackassFan on her page, I think that Malcolm McDowell's shocking, brilliant portrayal of Alex DeLarge would have been an excellent choice also. He is an amazingly talented actor who almost always improves every movie he is in and he is a large part of what makes A Clockwork Orange such a classic. A couple of his other performances that I really liked were as the hero, H.G. Wells, in Time After Time and as Jimmy Porter in Look Back in Anger. He really has such incredible range!

Still...Thre's only one logical thing to do...Continue being a dick about and create a movie villian tournament in the movie guessing games section of the site, clearly acting childish towards the outcome of this, then making a thread for movie heroes so I try to makei tl ook like I wassn't just reacting to the outcome of the villians part...
