deleted scenes usually mean crap cut from the film for many reasons, but some aren't

infact some should have been in the film from the start
anyone want to mention some

I'm picking "the antitode" scene from Jacob's Ladder.

i have always thought the deleted bedroom scene from Deep Blue Sea should have been left in, it would have explained some of the characters reactions

One movie that stands out for me in terms of quality deleted scenes is Blow. Two of the great deleted scenes are the scene between George and Pablo in Columbia and the whole taking Diego down sequence. The movie would have been much better with these scenes included.

The best deleted scenes in the history of DVD are from THE OFFICE (Season 2). Granted, thats not a movie, but it's the only thing that comes to mind when I hear someone talking about the "best deleted scenes".

Each episode comes complete with about 5-10 minutes worth of excised footage, cut simply to fit the 22 minute format - not due to lack of funny.

The one cut from Kill Bill 2.

It's pretty much just Carradine kicking a bunch of henchmen, but his fight with that big black guy who played Spawn still owns all.

Scary Movie 2 had some truly HILARIOUS deleted scenes that would have greatly benefited the film.

oh man why didn't I think of it
the spider walk scene from the exorcist that wasn't in the theatrical version, that would count seeing it wasn't put into the movie decades later.

amen. that is the first thing to come to my head when i saw the thread title... they are ESSENTIAL... in some cases, the deleted scenes are actually funnier than the episode... esp the CREED scenes LOL

another that comes to mind is the DATE-A-PA-LOOZA sequence on the 40-Year-Old Virgin DVD... hilarious.

I've found that the vast majority of all deleted scenes are cut not for time restraints like the director always says, but are cut because they either just plain suck or dont work with the rest of the movie. Thus, most deleted scenes are worthless. Of course there a few exceptions out there, Boogie Nights for one.

No kidding. That half hour of deleted scenes are more fun to watch than the movie.

I agree with the scenes from Deep Blue Sea. Those would have helped strengthen the characters. Same with X-Men. I saw no reason for the ten minutes or so of deleted scenes to be cut. The movie was only an hour and forty five minutes. That extra ten would have given a little more oomph to the characters and made the movie feel more complete.

Orgazmo has some spectacular deleted scenes. There's a bunch and they're almost all hilarious, but there's one string of scenes in particular that absolutly should have made the cut. If you've seen it, it's the "Don't come on me!" scenes. Awesome.

The best alternate ending goes to Die Hard 3, hands down.

Probably my favorite alt. ending is Natural Born Killers.

***SPOILERS***

Because I absolutely DESPISED on every level both of the main characters. Even beyond them being murderers, I just really hated them as characters. The original ending provides a satisfying end for them.
