From the books I've read (Choke, Survivor, and Invisible Monsters) and the Fight Club the movie, the stories have similar narratives: the droning sardonic outsider (think Edward Norton's narration in Fight Club).

He describes his main characters all as "lonley people looking for a way to connect." Brilliant stories. incredible dialogue.

Must agree with the love for Haunted -- it contains all the best ingredients of storytelling, including interesting characters and morbidly funny tales -- not to mention, a high body count that leaves the reader in wonder of who exactly will make it out alive. Fight Club was pretty good, but it made a better film adaptation.
