It's probably a tie between Raging Bull and Goodfellas.
But for further reference RedSon, this kind of thread belongs in Best, Worst, etc. forum. No biggie, just letting you know.

Sorry to Gangs of New York, which I flipping LOVE, but it's getting bumped out of first place by The Departed, which I *finally* saw last night, and really is as good as everyone says it is. Awesome.

My top ten favorites of his. I'm not going to give them all ratings but they're probably all almost 10's or 10's.

1. Taxi Driver
2. Casino
3. Raging Bull
4. Goodfellas
5. The Aviator
6. Mean Streets
7. King of Comedy
8. Cape Fear
9. No Direction Home: Bob Dylan
10. The Last Temptation of Christ

I've seen The Departed. I just wouldn't put it up with those tens - due to my Hong Kong bias.

Bringing out the Dead, but followed very closely by The Aviator. But all of his films are great. I'm rarely dissapointed by Scorsese.

honestly is it just nobody has seen After Hours or Im the only one who thinks it's great.

I've seen After Hours, and I think it's one of his more underrated films, a perfectly tuned Kafka-eque journey into the dark SoHo district, with some pretty funny humor for a Scorsese flick.

I would actually put it after Raging Bull and The Last Temptation of Christ.

I dunno, these days it's a pretty close race between Goodfellas and Taxi Driver. So yeah, those two are definitely at the top of the list.

I've seen it too and I think it is great. It is one of his better and more original films.

All of them. Scorsese can do no wrong.

Gangs of New York. Bill 'The Butcher' Cutting is my favorite film character of all time. He represents every violent fantasy I've ever had.

Sounds typical, but there is no way I can find one movie. The man has done so many great things it's impossible to come up with a favorite. The only movie I didn't like of his was Casino, which was a good movie by most standards but for Scorsese it was disappointing.

Casino was my first gangster film and the baseball bat scene with Joe pesci at the end is so intense....So i'll say Casino with Goodfellas second
