View Full Version : God, enough with this song already!

Anymore it seems like every preview I see, whether it be for a tv show or a movie, I hear this shitty ass "da bomb da bomb da dang diggy diggy" song playing. I just saw it in a commercial for 'Bones', and it was in every preview/tv spot for 'Employee of the Month', including actually being in the movie itself.

The song is annoying, monotonous, and frankly, pure shit. STOP USING IT ALREADY!!!!

You would think someone in Hollywood would say "whoa, we use this song way too much, time to back off". Cause it's happened before with plenty of other songs. They love just running them into the ground.

I noticed that too. First it was on a Heinekin commercial, if I'm not mistaken. That was about a year ago. Now I've heard it countless times on many other commercials. I don't know what the song is, I don't really want to know, but I think its use has died down. Never really bugged me too much. *Shrugs*

Are you talking about Kid Rock's "Bawitdaba"?

And Evil, are you talking about the Bow wow wow's "I want Candy"?

No, this song is much more upbeat and pop sounding. I actually prefer Kid Rock's over it. This song, those are apparently the only words to it.

Nah, it's that one that play's during the "Dirty Work" trailer. It's also on about a half-dozen other trailer.

Anyone think the new Justice (tv) commerical is weird with the 30 second to mars song. doesnt seem to fit, especially with the main actor being that old dude.

I hate overused and repetative. Especially when it is all around you.
I do not know what the hell it is, but in these reality shows they play like this pleasant neighbor crap tune you can hear it al the time on that damn Gene Simmons show but I have heard it in others. Just cause it is free does not mean you have to overuse the shit out of it!
I also can not stand songs that have a constant yeah, yeah, yeah like in that freaking Sexy Back song, gag me already! Yeah, Yeah, Yeah!:D

That de do do do song, isnt that the Police?

Well, it was used in School of Rock as well as the trailer for it. Oddly enough, I just started listening to disc 2 of Physical Graffiti now.

I am GLAD that don't use that one so much anymore.
Every fucking action movie:

"Click, click, boom"
"Lights out!"
"Here comes the BOOM...here comes the BOOM!"

They should just lower their friggin heads in shame.

Here's a paraphrased conversation between me and my friend on MSN about a week ago:

FRIEND: I saw Employee of the Month. It sucked.

ME: Suprise suprise!!!!

F: But it had a song I liked in it.

M: What song?

F: Grr I don't know I've been trying to figure it out.

(later)

F; Hey I finally found that song.

M: oh?

F: i'll send it to you.

Are you talking about that old new wave song, that's like "Daa da-da-da." --- and sung really loose. I can't remember the band, but they had the video on Vh1 Classic Alternative a while back and it's just these drunk looking soccer hooligan-looking guys in a pub doing it --- man, the video made me like the song.

Anyway - is that the one? It sounds like the singer is slow sort of. (dar dar dar)

As well as that Carl's Jr. commercial for the milkshakes. Jeez, first the Skankis Hilton commercials and now this. They keep this up I'll have to give up those western bacon cheesburgers that I've loved since I was a kid and boycott them until their commercials stop sucking.

I'll throw one more up on the board that is driving me frickin nuts right now. John Mellencamps "This is my country" Dating back to start of the baseball playoffs this song is frigging driving me up the wall. Now its even starting to get some radio rotation. Somebody make it stop. Instead of making me feel all patriotic its makind want to set up my own IED's in the streets here in America.

I saw someone on CNN complaining about the commercial due to it's footage of Hurricane Katrina saying it exploited the footage to sell cars.

As for the commercial, better it be an underragted singer/songwriter like Mellencamp than a redneck yahoo like Toby Keith talking about putting a boot in Osama's ass.

Yeah. Milkshake and Don't Cha are tired. I never liked either song in the 1st place. It hasn't been used as much now (thank God), but anyone remeber how every dramatic/epic trailer had the theme from Dragonheart in it? Every time Iheard it in a different movie trailer I wanted the dragon to pop up, wave and say "it's me!"

Yeah, the Dragonheart theme used to be in every second trailer. You don't see it as much, nowadays, it seems.

I'm almost positive that the trailer for The Edge used this song. Doubt you'll find a trailer for this one though unless you buy the dvd.

Hmm . . the trailer I remember wasn't that long. I mean it could have easily been a minor B trailer.

I found a site which lists music used in trailers and More Human Than Human wasn't coming up for The Edge either. Then again the same site didn't even list Rob Zombie under it's artists so there you go. Here's the link (http://www.soundtrack.net/trailers/) anyway.
