Tom Cruise and Brook Shields

I heard a little clip on one of the entertainment shows that these two and the spouses have become very freindly. I did see Shields on Leno I think saying Cruise had come over to the house to personally aplogize to her (for the nasty comments he made about her) and she said he was very nice. She said her husband came home and said he was hungry and he was going to make eggs and she was cringing cause it was Tom Cruise but that Cruise said he would love some eggs and they all had a nice time. Now the couples are friends and the two babies of course were born a few days apart in the same hospital. I think it is a nice story. Now if he could chill out about Nicole I will be OK with him again. ;)

I think the reason she was cringing is because she sees her and her husband at a lower status that Tom Cruise and her husband wasn't recognizing that and offered to make eggs. It was cute the way she told the story and I understood what she was talking about- not that she felt lower (of less worth) than Cruise but just that he might be used to higher living , if you know what I mean.

He hasn't said anything negative about her but he referred to her and his first wife Mimi Rogers as the other women he was married to- can't remember the way he worded it but it seemed like he was throwing her in a bin with Mimi who he was married to briefly while he was married to Nicole for 10 years and had shared 2 kids with. He hasn't been so nice about her but has raved about his GREAT relationship with Penelope Cruz and of course Kaite Holmes.

Maybe he hasn't been good about talking nice about Nicole because they had a bad marriage but I watched them both rave about each other for 10 years until they suddenly split so I have to think they might have had some nice times together. Meanwhile, Niclole has said some very nice things about Tom- she will always love him and how great a person he is and how she wished him well (and much of this was said when everyone was bashing Tom, while Nicole was enjoying great popularity). On Tom's side there have been crickets chirping.

It begs the question: If they had such a bad marriage why the homo... er, Tom stay with her for TEN YEARS!!!!

Nick on the other hand deserves everything she's gotten. She's been nominated for an Oscar twice, won once (The Hours). She's worked with Baz Luhrmann, David Fincher, Lars Von Trier, Robert Benton, Anthony Minghella, and Sydney Pollack. She's climbed to the women's A-list and gets paid 17.5 million a movie! (Personally I think women should get paid 20 mil just like the men). Nick deserves everything she's gotten.

Tom Cruise is an idiot. Who the hell is he to judge another person's life when he screwed up Katie's life? I have never liked her before but I was actually pretty impressed by her in Batman Begins and he basically made her throw away a potential career climb. He just wants her to have babies the rest of her life while he gets all the cash. Sure, for most that would sound great to have the rest of your life off from work but she worked so hard to become an actress and she is throwing all of her dreams away because of some stupid scientologist freak.

Such a waste.
