Why do you all hate Bill Maher? Why THIS bad? And what's so offensive about the pic? I must be missing something.

I personally dig the guy. His comedy isn't the funniest out there, and I know his politics are controversial, but he's never really struck me as a "douchebag." Not enough to warrant all this hate.

I heard all kinds of Cory Litle (SP?) jokes right after it was confirmed it was his plane that crashed in NY recently. Space shuttle tragedy = comedy gold. This is nothing new.

So was this a bit much? Meh, yeah, I guess. But I'm not gonna hate him for it. Bill Maher is the man in my book.

Ah, Steve Irwin! Gotcha. I didn't realize that's who he was dressed up as. I couldn't tell what that thing on his chest was. I understand now, and I agree, it is in pretty bad taste. The "smug asshole" part has never bothered me though (and I'll leave it at that).

So many of the same people who were laughing hysterically at the episode of South Park the other night are now bitching about Bill Maher. Gee, I wonder if it's because of the differing political views?

So many of the same people (coughhypocriticalrightwingerscough) who are constantly bitching and moaning about political correctness are now all of a sudden offended by something that's politically incorrect. Gee, I wonder if it's because of the differing political views?

Gee, I wonder if it's because of the differing political views? Exactly, if Bill Maher was dressed up as Bill Clinton with a gay pride armband and a Nazi uniform everyone would be defending his right to "freedom of expression". People are just trashing him because often trashes the political right. While South Park characters like Cartman and Mr. (Mrs?) Garrison are conservatives.

We threw a big halloween party over this past weekend and not one, but two people showed up as Steve Irwin with a barb through their chests. In fact, one of them had a partner dressed up as a stingwray. I don't really find it offensive or in such bad taste, this is just an excuse to attack Maher.

It's not hysterical, but it is a little funny, and frankly, since when have dead celebrities (particularly those like Irwin who were ridiculous personalities) not been fair game for jokes? C'mon

Or better yet, if she died suddenly and Maher mocked it, then punch Maher in the face. So, if Maher ever mocks the love of my life,Rachel McAdams,he'd better have his first aid kit prepared for his face.

It is a funny costume; Maher is first and has always been a comedian. He was making a joke. It was Halloween if he just wore it one day then that would be tasteless. Also I really doubt that the Steve's wife and child really watch or even care about what Maher is doing, I never heard of this until I saw it here. Look at it this way Steve Erwin was big enough for people to think of using his death as a costume, its kind of faltering in my opinion.

I've always liked Bill Maher. The Steve Irwin death joke is kinda overdone already, but 9/11 jokes are always welcome and hillarious. I wonder if Maher's opinion would be if his kids or wife were in those towers. Or does he even have any kids or a wife or loved ones for that matter? He does seem like an aging, liberal douche bag that is lonely and bitter about the world. It doesnt surprise me that he would make those comments.

Well, the attack was less about killing innocents than it was about disabling America's commerce. It would be along the same lines of thinking as why we froze terrorist bank accounts. Don't forget, they also did the same thing to the Pentagon, which is America's military stronghold. It wasn't like they planned to attack one of the most secure military centers in the world on the same day that they destroyed some random building.

I'm not justifying it, but to deny that it was a militant attack and not just your run-of-the-mill act of scaring people is far from true. There were alot of places they could have hit and killed innocents (Disney, for exampe), but the WTC was much more than just some really big office building where innocent people worked. It was a very unique target for reasons more than just its size. The attack was as much on America's defense as on its people.

Again - they are cunts for killing innocents, but that specific day is distinguished for a reason. It was really more than a terrorist attack, which is probably why we invaded a country and overthrew its ruling regime.

True.
