Bob Barker retires (http://www.tv.com/story/6988.html)
The time is right for The Price Is Right man to make his exit from TV.
Bob Barker In June, The Price Is Right host Bob Barker will tell someone to "come on down" for the last time. Barker today announced he will retire from TV.
"I will be 83 years old on December 12, and I've decided to retire while I'm still young," he joked with the Associated Press
Barker has been host of The Price Is Right for 35 years and has been on TV for another 15 years on top of that. He says he has been thinking about retirement for many years, but he was having too much fun to stop.
"I've gone on and on and on to this ancient age because I've enjoyed it," he said. "I've thoroughly enjoyed it and I'm going to miss it."
When contestants from the audience are called to the stage to guess and possibly win random items such as cars and lawnmowers, Barker summons them with an excited, "[Contestant's name], come on down!"

I've actually been on The Price Is Right two times. I never got to come on down, though.
I wonder who will replace him.

I also thought he would stay on the show until he died on stage. I love Bob Barker (who doesn't?) and I wish him the best of luck!
Who do you think will replace him. I think Wayne Brady would be the perfect replacement.

The Price is Right will not be the same without Bob. I just hope they find a worthy successor. Whoever does take over is gonna have some really big shoes to fill.

Which probably explains that sexual harrassment lawsuit years ago.

That explains the wrinkles. Someone isn't using the skin cream!

I used to watch the show A LOT growing up but lost touch with it.......
Barker is a game show host icon and all that but yeah.........
I have heard some not so nice stories on him........
In reference to BARKERS BEAUTIES.........
The ladies that smile soooooooo happy that you would have to slap the smile off of their faces that
He would get into a tizz fit if you appear to look overweight but youre actually not and he would play mind games but deep down not a nice guy personally....
My favorite TPIR gal is this one

And what Barker did to poor Holly was muthafukin COLD HEARTED
Maybe that was WHY I stopped watchin TPIR
heres a lovely sample of the lawsuit :D
For 32 years, host Bob Barker has charmed audiences on "The Price Is Right," the game show that made "Come on down!" and "You've won a new car!" household phrases.
Off-camera, however, the show has resembled a soap opera, complete with power plays, demeaning comments, racial slurs and secret conversations, according to several employees.
"It's a weird show," said Linda Riegert, 57, a former production assistant. "It's like the most dysfunctional family you ever saw."
The behind-the-scenes battles have involved suits from nine employees who alleged wrongful termination or sexual harassment. One suit, which has been pending for eight years, recently got a boost when an appeals court ruled it was suitable for trial.

Holly was my favorite too.
Bob just got more and more irritating as years went on. I hated it when he stalled the games for suspense. I always yelled at the TV for him to "just show us the damn price!" Then the contestants started wearing those cheesy homemade T-shirts with sayings like "I Wanna Have Ur Baby Bob!", "Future Barker Beauty," and "Podunk Just Loves Bob!" just so they had a better chance of getting on the show and it usually worked.
Still, he's a daytime legend and TPIR won't be the same. And I also loved seeing him punch out Adam Sandler.

Gawd, Tom Bergeron will probably host this until William Shatner replaces him.
Which isnt a bad idea, now that I say it.

SHATNER: "....KHHHHAAAAAAANNNNNNNN!"
